can someone also tell me if the rough skin caused by the excema will ever become soft permanently again? i worry that my little girls skin will never be normal again and yes i do find it very tiring and distressing seeing her scratching and looking so uncomfortable. Apart from the dairy products, are there any foods she should avoid? she stays off peanut, fish, and some chocolates.

Don't see why not - my ds' skin has been lovely since it cleared up. There are a number of other potential allergens which could cause flare-ups - tomatoes, peppers, kiwi fruit amongst many others. May be worth experimenting / getting her tested?

dear poopsy, I had excema as a child, and very badly on my neck for a few years as an adult, and those places are nice and soft and normal now. There was a good thread a week or so ago about creams and bath stuff for excema, that might help you to make her more comfortable. I hope that helps.

steppemum and nqwww, sorry i have not responded for a while. Thanks for the response. Yes i had her tested a while ago and it was the nuts, fish, diary products.it was interesting to note you said tomatoes, peppers. I had not really thought about thaat but i will look at those immediately. At the moment we have a flare up again and we are all miserable at home because the wet wrapping was helping to some extent. it is some comfort to hear from all you guys.
