Mooncup tips?

Thanks to MN I tried the mooncup a couple of years back but gave up as found the "stalk" uncomfortable and found it difficult to remove.

Due to re-occurin thrush I thought I would give it rry again - see if its any better than ampax, but am just after some "readers top tips" as you were, just to try and have a better experience this time.

Thanks

Cut the stalk off. If you're scared of not getting it out, trim it majorly, if you're anything like me, you'll eventually realise that you don't use the stalk to get it out anyway and it is infinitely more comfortable without.

But what happens if it gets......((((whispers)))) stuck?

Although in the past the stalk was more tricky to get a hold of - especially if my nails were a little long

Also, with regards to getting it out. I find it easier if i lean back, it seems to push it lower down so I can grap the bottom, slide my finger up the side and break the seal.

I thought i got it stuck once which was scary, hasn't happened since i learned to lean back. It's just getting the hang of it. Didn't take me more than 3 periods lol.

the stalk doesn't help at all with removal. the only thing keeping it 'stuck' is the suction part. You need to put your first finger between the side of the cup and vagina wall to release the suction. grip the bottom of the cup and wiggle and turn to remove.

Even tho i stretched alot in childbirth, i do have probs getting mine out past the opening, at times, but remember to breathe out and down.

Don't insert it too high, that's not where it's supposed to sit.

it does take practice and a bit of determination, but well worth it imo!!
