Sorry for the TMI!

Had sex with DH last night, nothing rough or anything, but went to the loo and there was alot of blood mixed in.

I thought I may have started my period unexpectedly, though on the pill and not on a break so shouldn't have really.

But there has been no more.

Had smear only a month or 2 ago and results normal.

Not had it before.
I also felt really nausoues and went a bit shakey

Was odd! Any experienced anything like this?

Poor you.
Bumping for you.

You should see your Gp.
Commonest cause is a cervical erosion- sounds bad but isn't- it's just cells that are usually inside the cervical canal grow outside of it and they are very delicate and bleed. However, that should have been spotted at a smear if they looked!

Other possibility is a polyp in/on the cervix or in the uterus.

You need to be looked at!

I had this for a while last year. It really freaked me out. It turned out I had a urine infection which had caused swelling which led to the bleeding.

Hmm, I just remembered I took a pill in the morning rather than the evening (so about 9 hours late - safe upto 12 hours) I wonder if the delay in the pill caused me to bleed a little?

I'll see how I go over the next few weeks and visit GP if it happens again,

Thankyou for the advice x

How soon do you usually bleed after your ;ast pill of the packet?

Most people it's 2-3 dyas, so seems odd for it t o happen after a few hours- is it the POP?

Go to your GP.

A delay in taking your pill would not cause you to bleed. Go and talk to your pharmacist, she will tell you exactly the same as this online pharmacist - go see your doctor!

is it from bladder or vag. You might have a cervical polyp which can bleed quite alot.

It sounds like a cervical erosion/ectropion which is very common particularly with women on the pill, it's caused by the extra hormones. They make the epithelial cells from the inside of the womb grow outside of your cervix. It looks as though your cervix is pouting.

I had one for about a year; bled every time after sex, nothing rough but still bled pretty much the whole year. I went for tonnes of gynae appts before I was told I had actually healed myself. I hadn't. I finally had it cauterized earlier this year which was very simple and it's now all sorted.

If I were you I'd give the doc/nurse a ring, can you have a telephone consultation? And tell them whats happened then go in for a quick check up. It's very common and easily sorted.
