Reactions/side effects to Swine flu jab?

Katymac · 06/11/2009 07:43

DD (11)is in tears - her arm is poorly & she feels sick

What chance is this to being connected to the Swine flu jab she had last night & how much sympathy should I be offering?

Other than get 'on with it you will be late for school'

Bit of a problem there Riven. I can't keep her off school without medical evidence & I can hardly take her to the GP for the 'side effects'

God this persistent absence thing is a pain

It makes me so angry that Iam considering sending her in when she is obviously ill

My arm was really, really sore for about 3 days. Much more sore than I've ever experienced with any other injections. I couldn't sleep on that side or lift it up properly.

What do you mean by medical evidence for keeping her home?

If you think she is ill enough to stay at home one day, surely that is good enough for the school? What more evidence do they need?

lucybrad · 06/11/2009 11:00

yes I have sore arm and slight poorlyness! Poor mite may feel peeky, cant hurt to have one day off.

Hope she gets better soon .

Katymac · 06/11/2009 20:53

Thanks she got gradually better during the day & was fine between 3 & 5 ish then has got worse & worse

DH is going to monitor her during the night - he says it is easier for him to wake up as I have sleep problems - but tbh I'm not sure I will sleep

Her breathing sounds pretty ropey & she is still crying with pain
