i spoke to my gp just now having reviewed ds1 asthma, she said the flu jab he is having on monday is one dose and that when he gets called for swine flu jab that is also one dose so at least it is 2 jabs as apposed to 2! I also asked her opinion of a mother about giving swine flu and she said if it was her yes she would give it.

So when mine do get called i will be giving it to them. Feel so much better than last night! Thanks for your posts.

mad4myboys please can you let me know vaccine your Dcs are getting since my DS needs 2 doses of Pandremix because of his age. If it's the same I'm going to take it up with the surgery as to why he needs 2. Thanks. Glad you feel better

of course. ds1 is having the flu jab on monday and i am going to discuss the swine flu jab/book date if havent had letter then

ds (7) had his jab after school, and was as right as rain when he went to bed. I was told at the surgery today he needs another jab in January becuse under 10.

I would like to add that ds had a bad cough last month that turned into croup and he had to go to hospital. He was unable to get his breath in a very short period of time - that is why he needs this jab. If he got swine flu I KNOW he could be very poorly indeed.

He was fine with his jab until he woke up this morn. his arm is very sore - hurts at the lightest touch, but that's all. He went to school. A teacher had it yesterday also, and she says her back hurts, and she is achy.

mooseloose,,,,just thought i'd ask if there have been any other effects since?

Dd2 had her jab yesterday (she has learning disabilities and is v underweight). She can't tell me how she feels, but no evidence of sore arm or redness around jab site. Also no temperature or obviously feeling unwell, but she had a very unpleasant nappy this morning!! She was up a lot in the night as well laughing and bouncing round her bed, which tends to happen when she has eaten or drunk something with lots of additives - so probably reacting to something in the vaccine I guess .

Parmageddon · 29/11/2009 20:18

This was Pandermix btw.

CoteDAzur · 29/11/2009 20:24

Trust me, her arm is sore.

Parmageddon · 29/11/2009 21:05

Yes I guess so and have been handling her very carefully to avoid it. But it's not obviously bothering her.

ds1 is having the normal flu jab this afternoon, dreading him being ill next few days! Hoping he will be ok. I have to ask the nurse about when to give him the swine flu jab aswell today

hennipenni · 30/11/2009 15:05

My DD had the first dose of P last wednesday, she has had a very, very sore swollen arm, a racking cough and stomach pains since (not sure if the last is connected or whetheer it's because she knows that she has to have a second dose). She also developed a low grade fever the following day and has been very quiet which isn't normal for her!

Acanthus · 30/11/2009 15:13

DS1 (10) has mild asthma and had the SF jab last week. He had a sore arm for 1 1/2 days and was tired and pale by the end of the day after the jab (which he had in the evening, between two school days). He's been fine since.

Mitchell81 · 30/11/2009 15:35

My DD had first jab last monday, she was fine. Her arm did seem abit sensitive but no other symptoms. She is unable to communicate so couldn't tell us, but seemed fine. Waiting for next dose in 2 weeks time.
