...Come and be a Venus In Fake Furs (with a nod to any vegetarians, who may enjoy the odd Quorn fillet...)on our healthy eating thread, and watch yourself vanish before your very eyes, if that is your aim!

We are supporting each other to lose weight, or just eat well and get fit- but we do like a bit of a laugh along the way, so if you are interested in joining Shiney and the other regulars here and be in the gang, just drop in and post as much as you can- the thread moves fast!

All welcome- the only quiches round here are the contraband in my fridge

I have just given a still awake ds a bollocking over the pinching money out of purse incident earlier. He is now classed as too little for pocket money and will be having his saving banked until he is more trust worthy. He just doesnt understand/get that it is wrong and that it is wrong to lie.

BoF enjoy the film.

Sals scroll up and you will see what i had for tea. it is not the best and definetly about the same benefit as the icecream blip. We all do it cos we are all human and all have RL which can be various levels of crap. The whole point about weight control is sorting out the issues of why we eat the rubiish. I am a comfort eater/starver (depends on issue and timing) plus i have a very sweet tooth and eat when tired. I have improved so that that my bad blips are slightl less long and try to eat better stuff generally. Have been eating alot of furit recently which has been a shock for my body, but havebeen very bad with sleep. so i am going to head to bed and see if i can get some sleep now ds seems to have drifted before he gets up again. Traumas need to be rehashed at about 3 am with tears and cuddles aparently. The bollocking will count as a trauma if it sinks in. otherwise he'll be cracking jokes about it tomo and driving me .

Have a good evening.

Realise I am joining in as everyone going off to bed but just to say Hi
I'm Labyrinthine and I've got about a stone to lose.
I eat healthily apart from when I'm tired when I eat fattening things from Marks and Spencers at the drop of a hat.And possibly from other shops too.

BiteOfFun · 30/10/2009 23:54

Hi Labyrinthine- welcome to our little world of madness! If you just post a bit about what you are eating/what exercise you do, and join in the general merriment, you will find us a very supportive group...how have you got on today?

Thanks BOF I lost a stone over the last few months mainly by cutting out white bread and spread and have about 3/4 of a stone to lose to have a good bmi.My main exercise is walking and swimming lengths ~ if I do lengths at the weekend I feel quite healthy and slim but if I can't make it I tend to go off the rails a bit and start eating bread and chocolate etc.

vastingavay · 31/10/2009 00:18

Evening! Just drooling at Bill on True Blood, again. DH was out Wednesday, so I'm watching it with him again.

I'm vasting atm, and I need to lose 7 stone 4lb.

I was inspired by reading the recipe thread earlier, thanks for the link Alice.
Me and Ds had stir-fry veg with noodles, which fascinated him and tasted mighty fine.
There's no point trying to get him to eat nursery food that's boring and fattening me if he can pick at tasty meals just the same I guess.

I also made up my awesome potato salad for the party we're going to tomorrow, definitely not diet friendly.

Bedtime now. I'm out all day tomorrow, so I'll be attempting to catch up on Sunday.

FlamingoBingo · 31/10/2009 07:22

Morning everyone

DD1 and I are playing on facebook games together while we wait for the others to get up. Please can some of you facebookers get on farmville - we need neighbours!

Jac - great news about the student rep! Well done!

BIWI - I can't believe you're 50!

Labyrinthine - Welcome! And well done for your first stone gone.

bellavita · 31/10/2009 09:09

Hi Laby (may I call you that?)

Great news jaq - well done you!

Hellooooooooo everyone else.

Have just had some ww toast for brekki and am on my 3rd coffee. I think my plan for today is to try and drink lots of water or at least some hot water and sliced lemon.

I really need to give downstairs a good hoover and polish but the sky man is due between now and 1.00pm,
We have friends coming over about 5ish, but I made tonights dinner (curry) yesterday and made the pavlova last night, so am ahead of the game.

NormaSknockers · 31/10/2009 09:17

Morning everyone,

How are we all?

Welcome Labyrinthine

Lizzy - how are you this morning? How's DH?

I have cakes in the oven as off to a Halloween party with the DC later, going to be lots of lovely buffet food that I have got to resist

Lizzylou · 31/10/2009 09:18

Hi all

Welcome to Labyrinthine (cool name)

Went to bed at 8.30pm last night and then struggled to get up, really tired atm.

I want to lose 1/1.5stone but mostly want to tone up and get fit again, which just hasn't been happening.

Hope your illing pussy is on the mend BIWI

Norma, DH is OK, his Dad was upset, mainly because he wasn't there when she passed. They are coming for the day for dinner etc tomorrow, they have been looking after her for so long I think that they now won't know what to do with themselves. When I left for work this morning DH was on the phone to his Dad. It's odd isn't it when your parents start needing you? FIL just seems a little bit lost atm.
DH got back at about 7.30pm with pizza and olives which we scoffed then went to bed.

I think the olives make it a healthy dinner, don't they?

jetcat · 31/10/2009 09:57

Hi, I'm Jet, and have at least another 4 stone to go - having lost over 3

jac - good news on the student rep - well done.

DiB - i had a post deleted??? Thanks for the kind thoughts

DEM - will get back to you later

morning to everyone else

BiteOfFun · 31/10/2009 10:03

Oh yes, very Mediterranean

Have just dropped dd2 off at her Saturday club- had to stop at the tesco metro to get some bits for her packed lunch, thought I'd leave her in the car while I ran in. Locked it from the outside, then had a horrible feeling after yesterday's shenanigans- what if she only has to try the handle and can get out anyway? So I made some poor woman watch the car while I grabbed a member of staff, then talked him into babysitting her while I did my shopping....

Anyway, all was well, and I'm going back to bed (hurrah) for a peaceful morning hour...catch you all later!

morning all (welcome Lab), in a terrible mood for no particular reason but will try not to growl too much.

So pretty much all of us have a stone and a half to lose...that's so weird.

Lizzy - it is odd. Such a weird thing when you have to act like the parent to your parent. Makes you feel far too grown up really.

Am anxiously waiting for my fitness DVD to arrive (Amazon promised delivery today!). I've never ever done one of those before...but I just cannot get time to go and exercise at the gym or run while DD is so little so I figure 30 mins here and there while she is sleeping might be a good start.

hellsbelles · 31/10/2009 10:06

Jet x -post - wasn't meaning to undermine your incredible 3 stone loss!

BOF - very good plan!

BiteOfFun · 31/10/2009 10:07

Why don't we all just recalibrate our scales?

Morningall, kinky thread title!

labyrinthine · 31/10/2009 10:35

Thanks for the welcomes.
Today I'm free as ds has gone on a Halloween trip with a friend to a castle so am going to clean up and study while not eating some sweets I bought as halloween treats.
Good idea about doing dinner early bellavita [and laby is fine] ~ think I will also make curry so am free to watch x factor later.

BiteOfFun · 31/10/2009 10:37

That's what you get when I'm the TIT around here, Trills...(that's Title Invention Tsar for any newbies btw)- I may have to nominate a new TWAT (Tsar With Authority for Titles) for the next one.

TrillianSlasher · 31/10/2009 10:41

Oh, we're doing introductions - I am Trillian, I lost half a stone a while ago (during the life of this thread) and I want to keep it off and eat more healthily. For dinner last night I had thai red curry (out for a birthday) but came home early and went to bed cos I had drunk too much on THursday.

I am now drinking some smoothie.

So have you made progress or just adjusted your goals Shiney? The old threads used to begin with yu saying '2 stone to lose'

Remember, Halloweeen smileys!

labyrinthine · 31/10/2009 10:52

I've got a stone to lose which soounds not too bad except all weight now goes straight onto my tummy which is unhealthy as well as looking not too hot[am an older mum now lol].
