...Come and be a Venus In Fake Furs (with a nod to any vegetarians, who may enjoy the odd Quorn fillet...)on our healthy eating thread, and watch yourself vanish before your very eyes, if that is your aim!

We are supporting each other to lose weight, or just eat well and get fit- but we do like a bit of a laugh along the way, so if you are interested in joining Shiney and the other regulars here and be in the gang, just drop in and post as much as you can- the thread moves fast!

All welcome- the only quiches round here are the contraband in my fridge

BOF - you are bloody gorgeous.

Vinny - my DS is very very impressed with your pumpkins. He looked over at our effort with sad doeful eyes after seeing those pics! They really are amazing....there must be a potential money making opportunity with your pumpkin carving ability !

I think Bella & Norma have been sending over vibes of domestic goddessery (made up word) - I actually made pumpkin soup which is very unlike me. And it was quite tasty.

BIWI - - that is awful. Is it too late to sign up now for pet insurance so you don't get another bill like that in future?

BecauseImWorthIt · 31/10/2009 13:37

Sadly, Sylvester is 10 so will not be covered any more.

Worse - they suspect he may be diabetic, so there could be all kinds of treatments (for which read "ways to access my bank account") to come.

jetcat · 31/10/2009 13:43

thats some pumpkin BoF

hi to laby

and no worries helles, it felt nice for a moment or two being grouped with 'the stone and a half club'

am off to a halloween party tonight with the kids, hoping there is some food there as i cant be bothered to cook tea. Should be fun as it is fancy dress, and junior is struggling with the idea She looks fantastic though, may put some pics on FB (not sure how to on here!)

hellsbelles · 31/10/2009 14:09

oh BIWI - what a nightmare.

Jetcat Looking forward to the pics.

I'm feeling so lazy today - really can't be arsed to do anything - my Davina DVD just arrived and I haven't even opened the packet. Not a good start.

DS has a halloween party later and a sleepover...funny how the thought of just looking after one (DD) seems like taking it easy!

DH and I are planning a fish & chip supper followed by a very scary film - Drag me to Hell directed by Sam Raimi. Crits are brilliant so I'm looking forward to be suitably scared! Have any of you seen it?

at Vinney - thing is though, I did say you could have the last word then someone posted after you then I felt the need to say something else. No doubt MsTrills will be putting her twopenneth in on the old thread, so we will both lose out anyway... I promise, on this thread, I will not have the last word.

BIWI - that is a lot of money.

Hells - pumpkin soup is lovely.

VineGruesomeTits · 31/10/2009 14:37

Baileys at this time of the day?

bellavita · 31/10/2009 14:44

Vinney, I had a major trauma! Tis for medicinal purposes.

DH needed the tv and stuff receipt so he could take one of the cables back - they were £50 each so we needed to take it back and get a refund, if it had been a couple of quid, then we would have probably left it.

Middle of the week, I had a huge clearout of our post tray in the kitchen, did a shred it pile, file it pile, chuck it away pile...

So, I couldn't find the receipt (which is of course the guarantee for all the goods we bought). Two rubbish bags later, still haven't found it. I had been through the stuff left in the filing tray 3 times and DH had been through it once - no receipt. DS2 goes through the pile and finds it first time.

So all three of them have gone off up to Currys and I thought whilst the house is quiet and I am supposed to be washing the kitchen floor, I will have a pre-dinner drink in readiness for tonight.

TrillianSlasher · 31/10/2009 14:47

Baileys!

We were supposed tobe dressing up and going to the pub, but DP is too hungover. So it'll be a TV evening for us. That's okay, I've been doing stuff the past 3 nights and need a rest.

SycamoretreeIsVile · 31/10/2009 15:59

Afternoon ladies.

DH has given me a 2 hour kip over lunch which I don't know if I feel better or worse after.

Meant to ask you Shiney if you've finally shed all signs off illin'ation?

Today I have eaten.

2 belgian waffles with maple syrup and strawbs

Syc yog special (what I should have had)

Turkey pastrami and gherkin sandwich on doorstopper bread with butter and low fat (splutter) mayo.

A jammy dodger (don't even like them)

A fun size mars bar (curse the trick or treat bowl lying there so temptingly).

I have written to my Lighter Life counsellor as haven't been for over a month (you all sound so shocked, not). Am thinking of going back on the packs for a couple of weeks (2 packs, one meal) in order to break this cycle of shite eating.

I don't have energy to do it any other way at the moment it seems.

Am I mad?

Happy Halloween.

x

I havjust been to the shop to get a paper and some sweeties. For me. And poor hungover DP (see, I am being nice). Little kids can bugger off, the only person I want to knock on my door is deliverying takeaways. Which we're not going to have. Probably.

TrillianSlasher · 31/10/2009 16:57

Hi Syc.

BiteOfFun · 31/10/2009 17:04

Oh darn it- I missed the opportunity to get a dust collector good exercise dvd ...by, er, being asleep for three hours

I can go one better than a guiltily unopened exercise dvd. I actually have a whole room in my house that is a dedicated gym
Seriously, there is a weights bench, a step/ski machine, a trampoline, a stomach crunce frame, etc etc.

I last went in there to hide an Ikea bag full of laundry.

I once rented a treadmill for £90 a month, and actually ran on it three times in total. I spent three humdred and sixty quid on Good Intentions the, untill I admitted defeat and sent it back...

Beat that guys!

Much better to never buy it and not do it, methinks. I have no delusions about my likelihood of using a rented treadmill - they freak me out because they bounce when you run on them.

bellavita · 31/10/2009 17:14

Hiya Syc

Thanks Shiney.

That is one good tale BofF

TrillianSlasher · 31/10/2009 17:21

Can we go to BoF's and play on the trampoline? She has a cute dog too...

Just doing Tesco shop online - tell me why I don't need a tin of Roses?

hellsbelles · 31/10/2009 17:26

shiney - I have just ordered one and got it today - is it rubbish or something?
