...Come and be a Venus In Fake Furs (with a nod to any vegetarians, who may enjoy the odd Quorn fillet...)on our healthy eating thread, and watch yourself vanish before your very eyes, if that is your aim!

We are supporting each other to lose weight, or just eat well and get fit- but we do like a bit of a laugh along the way, so if you are interested in joining Shiney and the other regulars here and be in the gang, just drop in and post as much as you can- the thread moves fast!

All welcome- the only quiches round here are the contraband in my fridge

night Sazz, and thanks

jetforkesandbonfires · 04/11/2009 07:26

morning guys

I hope it is ok but i have deleted my post from last night - advice etc (and suggestions still welcome, but i figured it was a little too personal to leave on.

Lizzylou · 04/11/2009 07:28

Jet, I didn't see your post, but I agree with the others that you are an amazing woman. You bring so much to this thread, you are so kind and thoughtful and funny.

I think things are very definitely on the up for you

jetforkesandbonfires · 04/11/2009 08:09

thanks Lizzy - right back at you

DreamsInPyrotechnics · 04/11/2009 08:51

Morning all

Not been around much recently, but ironically the diet is going quite well

I'm back on Atkins and feel much healthier, although pretty empty.

Ouch, ouch, OUCH Sparkly.

Lizzylou · 04/11/2009 09:03

OOh, Alice I missed that, poor you, sounds horrendous.

It would seem that DH is very definitely ill, he was fine last night after some nurofen and was joking that he was just trying to get some attention. Then he was going hot and cold all night and barely slept (kept on bloody shivering whilst I was tryin to sleep, gawdammit ). He was determined to go into work though, so have packed him off with nurofen and co-codomol to alternate.

Hope you are all well, will try and give running another try if it stops bloody well peeing it down.

TrillianAstra · 04/11/2009 09:14

Lots of illness around it seems, DP is at home since they told him to go home yesterday afternoon and he looks worse rather than better.

Hoping I don't get it as I'm on my own at work next week - the other two in my team are having holiday at the same time (eek!).

hellsbelles · 04/11/2009 09:22

Jet - probably a good plan if you were worried about it being up there.

Dreams - well done! Are you getting the Atkins headaches or are you past that stage? I did South beach and the first few days I was a monster to be around.

Lizzy & Trills - no kissing your DP's - we don't want you illing as well

I'm feeling stupid today - decided to wear heels forgetting that I can't walk in the bloody things...so despite my legs looking rather lush - that is countered by the fact I walk like a man in drag

VinegarTitsOnFire · 04/11/2009 09:37

Hello dears

Sexy, nice smelling young man sitting by me today

Just been offered a chocolate cake and turned it down

Salad for lunch, with homemade coleslaw, om nom

TrillianAstra · 04/11/2009 09:43

Is this the same nice-smelling man as the other day Vinny?

VinegarTitsOnFire · 04/11/2009 09:45

Yes same one, hes just a visitor, works in another office, to young for me but i can dream

hellsbelles · 04/11/2009 10:05

vinny- how much too young? Couldn't you be a 'cougar' - it's all the rage doncha know

VinegarTitsOnFire · 04/11/2009 10:13

lol whats a cougar?

He looks early twenties, and i am late 30 something, so i am like 'oooh young man' [harry enfield emoction]

TrillianAstra · 04/11/2009 10:17

I don't know what a cougar is either.

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 04/11/2009 10:17

I have skimmed..

Jet, big Hugs or manly punches...

Alice, ow-ow-ow-ow. Ummm..a virtual all over healing 'kiss it better'.

I went to the hairdressers for the first time in 15 yrs yesterday (have been clipping it myself) and it was divine. Hvaing my hair washed was like an absolute luxury. DS says I look 'awesome' bless him.

TrillianAstra · 04/11/2009 10:19

Aww, lovely. It is nice to have your head massaged when the put the conditioner on

TheMitsubishiWarrioress · 04/11/2009 10:25

cougar

TrillianAstra · 04/11/2009 10:28

I'm hoping you are being put in the 'milf' bracket there...

Lizzylou · 04/11/2009 10:29

I love that bit of the hairdressers, makes me fall asleep .
It's the sitting in front of the mirror whilst they work their magic bit which makes me cringe.
How lovely of your DS, Mits

Lizzylou · 04/11/2009 10:31

I am loving :

"A woman who is 35+, sexually cunning, that prefers to hunt rather than be hunted."

The ages are right, VT???

wastingaway · 04/11/2009 10:37

Morning!

Well done Sazz! Size 12 v. exciting.

Jet, I missed your post but wanted to say that I think that often one must be in a better place in order to make changes like losing weight, like you're already partly ready for a new you.

I have stuck to my WW points for two days straight, so hopefully I'm feelng ready to lose weight!
It's not hard though, I get 34 pooints.

VinegarTitsOnFire · 04/11/2009 10:37

I cant get onto UD at work (blocked)

Age is right, but i like to be hunted (to lazy to be the hunter)

hellsbelles · 04/11/2009 10:39

umm - I meant it in the Courtney Cox - MILF type way - not the wind tunnel older woman!! Does sound fun though (says Hells living precariously through Vinny)

Lizzylou · 04/11/2009 10:45

Oh to be sexually cunning though.....

How would one do that?

Slyly fix it so they get the wet patch I presume?

TrillianAstra · 04/11/2009 10:55

34 points? I think I could manage on that...

Lentilly goodness for lunch. Not that it's lunchtime yet. No, not time yet.
