...Come and be a Venus In Fake Furs (with a nod to any vegetarians, who may enjoy the odd Quorn fillet...)on our healthy eating thread, and watch yourself vanish before your very eyes, if that is your aim!

We are supporting each other to lose weight, or just eat well and get fit- but we do like a bit of a laugh along the way, so if you are interested in joining Shiney and the other regulars here and be in the gang, just drop in and post as much as you can- the thread moves fast!

All welcome- the only quiches round here are the contraband in my fridge

Lord knows what he's got up his sleeve, bella, but I know someone owes him a bit, so perhaps that will help. I have borrowed £500 from my mum to get the kitchen fixed up for Xmas, but the workie hasn't shown up (it's BIL with his matital strife, v unreliable), and I keep dipping into it as we're skint. He wont let me give him any of it though. He's right I suppose, but it's a worry.

But hey, my sausage and mash is going down a treat

VinegarTitsOnFire · 03/11/2009 11:34

What are rocky roads? [baking virgin]

BitOfFun · 03/11/2009 11:36

Too sweet Vinny- like posh rice crispie cakes with biscuits and marsh mallows in.

TrillianAstra · 03/11/2009 11:39

Aha, perfect, you can be my guinea-pig Vinny!

Rocky road is like rice crispie cakes without any rice crispie - broken biscuit and melted chocolate and marshmallow and sometimes raisins.

VinegarTitsOnFire · 03/11/2009 11:45

Don't like the sound of Rocky Roads, i might have a go at making chocolate brownies

gosh look at me getting all domesticated

BitOfFun · 03/11/2009 11:55

Oh poo- the car can't be taxed without an MOT We have never needed one before- it still seems new to me, but it's over three years old now.

TrillianAstra · 03/11/2009 11:59

MOT is about £40-£50 on its own if there's nothing else that needs doing. I've enver had a new-new car but can imagine it must be confusing cos 3 yrs is definitely long enough to forget about MOTs.

NormaSknockers · 03/11/2009 12:02

Boo!

How is everyone?

VinegarTitsOnFire · 03/11/2009 12:04

Vauxhall are doing MOT's for £19.95 atm, there is one in Ormskirk, is that to far for you bof?

NormaSknockers · 03/11/2009 12:06

Vinny I do a chocoholic Rocky Road, cut up Mars bars, milky ways, Twixs, Snickers etc into chunks, chuck in some Malteasers the cover it all in melted galazy or dairy milk & bung in the fridge (score into small squares first) you only need to eat a small bit at a time as it's rich so lasts aaaaaages!

Shiney - hurrah - it's here. Can't start playing with it till tonight as I must at least pretend to work Did the money hit your account yet?

Vinny - glad to hear you are on the mend but try not to overdo it - otherwise you'll just get ill again. I think J F-W is Hugh's mum!

Trills- poor DP - not his day is it!

BOF - good luck for dp foraging!

I am feeling very fragile. My body is rebelling against the lentil soup -I am never making that again. Let's just say the results have been explosive

Oh I'm still cheerful enough thanks! I'll tell DP about Vauxhalls, thanks Vinny

NormaSknockers · 03/11/2009 12:24

Nothing like a good chocolate overload now & again

I'm good thanks Shiney - definately on the up

wastingaway · 03/11/2009 12:26

Explosion at Cadbury World Norma!

Hope the foraging goes well BoF.

I've had soup for lunch followed by Total and blueberries.

NormaSknockers · 03/11/2009 12:29

wasting - I don't make it very often, only once or twice a year as it's to yummy to make to often

wastingaway · 03/11/2009 12:31

Like my potato salad, it's even nicer if you don't have it too often.

hellsbelles · 03/11/2009 12:31

shiney - looks perfect and DH is equally excited (we lead pretty boring lives!).

TrillianAstra · 03/11/2009 12:35

I'm having chilli for lunch. Think I might try to make some tonight with lentils instead of meat - can be my healthy work lunch. I don't think lntils have the same effect on me as they do on you hells!

Glad the unwanted joggler is bringing joy - if/when you get bored of it you can pass it on for someone else to be temporarily excited about!

TrillianAstra · 03/11/2009 12:50

How yummy is your potato salad wasting?

VinegarTitsOnFire · 03/11/2009 12:52

Can anyone tell me how to make homemade coleslaw?

I'm on salads for the rest of the week, want to make my own so i know how much fat is going into it

BitOfFun · 03/11/2009 13:03

Shred white cabbage and carrot, add spring onions or raisins to taste- then just lightly coat in lowcal mayo, dilute it down a bit with olive oi, add salt and pepper. It really does taste MUCH nicer when it isn't drowning in mayo- bleeeuch. Same with spud salad.

VinegarTitsOnFire · 03/11/2009 13:07

cheers boffy
