...Come and be a Venus In Fake Furs (with a nod to any vegetarians, who may enjoy the odd Quorn fillet...)on our healthy eating thread, and watch yourself vanish before your very eyes, if that is your aim!

We are supporting each other to lose weight, or just eat well and get fit- but we do like a bit of a laugh along the way, so if you are interested in joining Shiney and the other regulars here and be in the gang, just drop in and post as much as you can- the thread moves fast!

All welcome- the only quiches round here are the contraband in my fridge

Morning

Am off to get my hair dyed this morning. Peeing of rain so am prepared for a soaking

Lizzylou · 03/11/2009 07:25

Hi all, was up between 3-5am for some bizarre reason, DH's snoring and blowing like a whale (whats that all about?) didn't help. Came downstairs wrapped in a blanket and read my book.
Now I am knackered, bloody typical.
Squeezy, what colour are you going for?

Alyson, sounds like you've been through the mill, I have been iller since having DC, our resistance must be low. What breed is your puppy?

SqueezyFawkingBonfire · 03/11/2009 07:30

Hiya Lizzy, top of the morning to ya

Laughing at the blowing like a whale, bizarre! You should record him and let him hear it. DH woke me up at 5:30 to ask me to turn off the electric blanket then I couldn't get back to sleep

Am going for dark brown, need to cover up all them greys.

Lizzylou · 03/11/2009 07:32

I'm with you there, Squeezy, am very badgerlike!

I can't moan too much, DH said that I mooed in my sleep last week, he has said it before

SqueezyFawkingBonfire · 03/11/2009 08:05

I've just eaten my lunch (thai chilli noodles) but i needed the carbs for energy

jetforkesandbonfires · 03/11/2009 09:38

are you at least feeling a little better Vinny?? Hope so!

Mits - xx

morning to everyone - please help to motivate me I am eating ok(ish) but seriously need to exercise. Cant get to gym till Friday - what can i do in the meantime?? Weather is pretty dire, so long walks are a bit fraught My only other option is youtube exercises when minijet goes to bed, though i am supposed to be doing an online chat with my OU course. Next weigh in 2 weeks tomorrow - making tremendous effort now

VinegarTitsOnFire · 03/11/2009 09:49

I'm feeling much better thanks Jet, just extremely tired, feel like i could sleep for a week

TrillianAstra · 03/11/2009 09:51

Morning all. Dinner last night was fun, DP has some kind of chest infection, and his bike has been stolen.

At work, etc, will catch up later.

jetforkesandbonfires · 03/11/2009 09:54

Trills - not good about the bike My mate always had his stolen, despite numerous locks and chains etc.

Hope DP feels better soon

TrillianAstra · 03/11/2009 09:56

By the way, I know it's not a healhy eating recipe, but if you know a really good/easy/foolproof way to make nice peppermint creams please tell me!

VinegarTitsOnFire · 03/11/2009 10:06

Trill, Jaq mentioned she was going to make peppermint creams as christmas gifts so she may have a good recipe

Blimey, where did he get his bike stolen from? is it insured?

TrillianAstra · 03/11/2009 10:09

Yep, I did mean since Jac was making them!

Stolen from outside th flat - in an alcove down a dead-end road not viible from the main road. It looked suspiciously empty around the flats so I think someone came with a van and swooped them all up. The bikes are on the house insurance but I'm not sure if it'll be worth claiming or not.

wastingaway · 03/11/2009 10:10

Morning!

Glad you're feeling better Vinny.

Didn't DP have his bike stolen earlier this year too Trills? What a pain.

I had nine squares of chocolate last night, but as I had over 10 points left, I stayed in my allowance. Plus it had raisins in.

bellavita · 03/11/2009 10:16

Morning all

Had porridge made with water for brekki and have just eaten a banana.

Sorry about dp's bike Trills.

Vinny, I couldn't eat thai noodles at this time of a morning [vom emoticon]

TrillianAstra · 03/11/2009 10:29

Yep, this is the second one that's been nicked this year.

Well done on the raisin chocolate wasting.

I so could eat noodles at this time of morning.

VinegarTitsOnFire · 03/11/2009 10:53

peppermint creams recipe this one is from Jane Fernley-Wittingstall, do you think she is Hugh's wife?

I like the idea of adding cream into the recipe as i always think peppermint creams are too sweet and hard for my liking, so the cream might soften them and take away some of the sweetness

All other recipes i have found just have icing sugar and egg white

TrillianAstra · 03/11/2009 11:08

Ah, but have you used that recipe? I can google myself if I want, but I'm looking for personal recommendations...

BitOfFun · 03/11/2009 11:11

Morning all! Is it very wrong of me to fancy Thai noodles now?

Sorry about DP's bike, Trills

Haven't eaten yet- off to forage for something to rival Vinny's brekkie, I think....

DP is out foraging for the mortgage and car tax- bounced again...bugger.

BitOfFun · 03/11/2009 11:21

Aha- just the thing- two sausages and M&S Count On Us Cabbage and Spring Onion Mash. That should do it...

bellavita · 03/11/2009 11:24

BofF - will he be successful do you think in the foraging?

I remember many years ago when DH was self-employed I was on the verge of having to sell a ring to pay the mortgage one month, luckily, he sold a computer which put money in the bank for a couple of mortgage payments..

VinegarTitsOnFire · 03/11/2009 11:28

I wasnt googling for you Trill, i was googling for me, was just pointing out that it uses cream (and it was HF-W wife , unlike other recipes i have seen

I'm going to try that one, will get messy with ds2 later i think
