...Come and be a Venus In Fake Furs (with a nod to any vegetarians, who may enjoy the odd Quorn fillet...)on our healthy eating thread, and watch yourself vanish before your very eyes, if that is your aim!

We are supporting each other to lose weight, or just eat well and get fit- but we do like a bit of a laugh along the way, so if you are interested in joining Shiney and the other regulars here and be in the gang, just drop in and post as much as you can- the thread moves fast!

All welcome- the only quiches round here are the contraband in my fridge

jac- i too like the sound of peppermint creams I am thinking of doing something similar, and am getting a lot ideas from here Some of the threads have some lovely pictures, and great tips for making things on a budget

hellsbelles · 02/11/2009 09:03

Morning all - too much bloody chocolate round here. You are making me hungry.

Jac (or if Jac's not about - someone else please!!) - can you remind me of DC's ages and sex? Doing some sorting and I can't recall if you had any the right ages for some of the things I have.

AT home today and realising how filthy it is at floor level - DD crawling everywhere and I've noticed dust on all the radiators...urghh.

Davina DVD still shiny and new in it's packet - if I haven't done it by tonight please shout at me.

Morning lovelies

Jaq - here is a thread on homemade christmas presents that may be helpful

Dh is making me grumpy at the moment. I am hormonal and stressy and he is stressy about work so we are both a bit aaarrrggghhhh atm

VinegarTitsOnFire · 02/11/2009 09:38

Morning folks

Back in work today, feel bloody miserable, i am not happy with myself or my weight and really need to get serious about shifting it, and i hate the cold weather

hellsbelles · 02/11/2009 09:44

Shiney - very excited about joggler! I did the transfer quite a while ago so it should reach you soon - shout if not!

sorry everyone feeling miserable....I too am feeling pissed off. Someone at work made a rather foolish error but I should have checked what he was doing so my fault also. Urghhhhhhhhhh. Very cross with myself.

TrillianAstra · 02/11/2009 09:52

Morning all. Went to the pub last night. Then had a takeaway. Need to stop this really. But I only had a little bit and then felt reall full. So better for healthy eatign but not so good for not wasting expensive takeaway.

hellsbelles · 02/11/2009 10:02

Trills - well done on healthy eating!

I have read quite a few times that the old thing of 'clearing your plate' is one of the biggest things we need to combat.

And if we could just stop when we are full it would make a huge difference to weight gain. With that in mind I'm trying really hard not to always ask DS to clear his plate if he says he's full (with the proviso he doesn't then scoff down a huge pudding )

BecauseImWorthIt · 02/11/2009 10:06

Shiney - are you getting rid of your Joggler?

I was considering doing that with mine. It's just turned out to be a clock that's using up electricity here!

Hi, I really don't have time to catch up, but lots of folk seem down or ill, so hope things improve for everybody soon.

I have decided to set myself the goal of losing my weight by the end of November..(1/2 st).

I have also contacted a couple of outlets re sending pictures of my paintings for their consideration . I was in a 'i'm bloody fed up of being a rut and have nothing to lose' frame of mind and am now completely wobbling about it....aaaarrrgggghhhhh!

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 02/11/2009 10:21

Tis chaos here. The builders are in, I have confused and unsettled children and dog. We are staying somewhere esle, but back during the day and I am currently taking out fitted wardrobes.

I am also fuming with the landlord of the local pub who is a fucking wanker, but also happens to be a close friends boyfriend. Went in to book a table for us and some friends yesterday lunch, and he asked me whether we disciplined our children, and then went on to have a conversation with another staff member about the advantages of smacking. I know also he has been talking to my sister about DD's behaviour, well since she winds her up all the time of course she goes wild and then she tells her off. Sorry I am so fucking pissed off.

shiney - I was only teasing BIWI It may well end up being an expensive clock for me too...but that's my fault if it does as I know perfectly well what it does! So while I thank you for offering a refund if it's not right - I promise I won't take you up on it (though we may find it being offered on here again in months to come! )

fivego - he sounds like a right twunt. Ignore him.

hellsbelles · 02/11/2009 12:58

forgot to say - I DID THE DAVINA WORKOUT!! And yes I'm shouting cause I"m very proud of myself.

Plonked DD with her toys and although I had to stop all the time to try and stop DD from getting into mayhem I did get all the way through it and feel very envigorated (if a bit whiffy). Slightly worried however that I've done my knee in - my body is so unused to doing exercise that I think my knee is protesting in shock!

Oh and DD found the first 5 mins hilarious as I huffed and puffed my way through it. She couldn't stop laughing

TrillianAstra · 02/11/2009 13:00

Well done Hells.

hellsbelles · 02/11/2009 13:09

thanks trills

TrillianAstra · 02/11/2009 13:24

Twiglets and tomato soup for lunch. Will be out (again!) this evening, celebrating friend's new job. Madness, I know, I really need to stay at home more.

How many calories in a glass of champagne?

VinegarTitsOnFire · 02/11/2009 13:42

Well done hells

I might get my wii fit out tonight and do some hola-hooping

Trills you really shouldn't stay at home more, you chould enjoy it while you can, you only live once girl

hellsbelles · 02/11/2009 13:43

thanks Vinny - and Trills I agree with Vinny - be out as much as you can!

SazZaVoom · 02/11/2009 13:49

Morning

Bit here as DD2 was bitten at toddler group this morning. She has a ring of teeth marks across her nose

I am going out to the gym this avo rather than an NCT coffee afternoon as i fancy pounding on the treadmill . This feeling is so rare, i thought i out to make the most of it

Trills - i agree with VT, stay out and enjoy . When i lived a single life in Brighton i was out almost every night, although sadly it is not really condusive to weight loss. Champagne has one of the least calories so you should definitely drink it. All the time

Well done Jet on your bendiness and Hells on your workout

Sal - if you are tall, overweight and phsically active then that calorie count is probably right. Is that a 2lb loss per week?

Fanny - sounds like a right twat. Is there no alternative venue?

FiveGoMadonTheDanceFloor · 02/11/2009 13:54

Well done Hells,

Lunch was chocolate biscuits as no cooker (that is my excuse and I am sticking to it).

Sadly it is our local so we will be off to find one that likes children (although it does advertise itself as such). I think it was the utter humiliation of being talked to like that.

hellsbelles · 02/11/2009 14:11

Very happy to get so much support - I may even exercise t/m

Saza - for your poor DD - is she o.k? I remember with most of DS's scrapes I ended up more bothered than he was!

Five - so they've lost business from being idiots. Serves them right. Hope you find somewhere better.
