What foods, apart from jelly and icecream are easy to swallow with a bad sore throat?

Poor ds1 is very poorly with a high temperature and a bad sore throat. When his temperature is brought down with meds, he wants to eat but has only managed jelly so far today. He is not that keen on icecream.

I am about to go out and get in some more supplies (it has been a long 5 days, first ds2 was ill, now ds1, the battery has gone in the thermometer, the paracetamol pills are running out, etc).

Can anyone suggest other foods I could try tempting him with?

Dumbledoresgirl Thankyou for your advice it's a good idea and I will try to remember when I'm next at GP.

I hope your ds1 is now feeling much better.

My dd has finally turned a corner, she got dressed and walked with me a hundred yards to corner shop and bought comic

A mess at bedtime still, but slept through and today has moved from sofa a bit. No calpol today so far!!!

sorry if I ended up hijacking your thread a bit

Glad to hear your dd is a bit better now shroeder.

If I tell you my ds1 is currently out at a friend's house, you will think I was exagerating how bad he was yesterday but the truth remains that yesterday morning he had a temperature of 39.5 and could barely speak, and today, apart from a heavy cough, he is completely back to normal!

He ate the soup I bought for lunch today though.
