DD had one recently and I used Bazuuka on it. Amazingly, it disappeared on the 7th day of treatment. I thought it would take weeks.

charliecat · 14/06/2005 20:51

Your lucky we have been at this for weeks. Cant find what im looking for...anyone help?

you could take her to the Drs and let them decide. My sister told me to press on my DD's verucca and if it was a verucca, it would hurt her! I think a verucca for 6 months is too long. It said on the leaflet with our treatment it could take upto 12 weeks.

assumedname · 14/06/2005 21:20

How old is she, charliecat?

charliecat · 14/06/2005 21:45

tea tree oil on a plaster twice a day killed dd1's

kid · 14/06/2005 23:38

I have just noticed a couple of small lumps (very small) on my finger. There is no black dot it them but they are quite sore when touched. I wonder if they could be veruccas, I hope not

rummum · 15/06/2005 16:10

OMG thanks for that link charlie cat.. that first picture is gross... how did they put their shoes on.... yuck....

Prettybird · 15/06/2005 16:34

I thoguh they were vurrucae if they were on your feet and warts if they were else where?

Don't want to upset you, but I had verrucas for years. My dad used to cut them out regularly, and than I had a patch on my feet that just wouldn't go away. Must have had then fro well over 10 years - but because they didn't hurt, i wasn't too worried by them (and my dad, a doctor, had told me that they weren't as infectious as people make out). Eventually decided to have another attempt to get rid of them as they had started to spread to the side of my foot and cause some slight discomfort. Was in agony for ages, as the salycilic acid stripped whole layers from the sole of my feet. Stopped to go on skiing holiday - only the mummy and daddy ones were left at that stage and then they disappeared. My theory is that I'd finally reduced them to a small enough quantity that my body could finally fight it - and I've never suffered since.

It's a virus that causes verrucae, so in theroy, once your body has got rid of them, you shold be immune.

My dd (just 6) had a fine crop of verruccas. Took her to a chiropodist and he gave me some tape to put on them. They'd all gone within 3 weeks.

It works because the tape keeps the area slightly damp and verruccas don't like damp.

I rang the chiropodist to tell him they'd all gone and he was a bit surprised they'd all gone so quickly. Put it down to her skin being so soft at this age.

My GP gave me a silver nitrate pencil for mine, only thing he didn't tell me is that it sends your foot completely black!
