Prob be ok but I'd get the morning after pill just to be sure

ninah · 14/06/2005 13:44

still time for the morning after pill

nailpolish · 14/06/2005 13:44

why dont you go and get the morning after pill if you are worried? not sure but can you get it from the chemist?

anorak · 14/06/2005 13:45

Phone your surgery for emergency contraception. They will either prescribe the morning-after pill (which works for a couple of days after unprotected sex) or fit an IUD which prevents implantation.

ohhelp · 14/06/2005 13:47

i have never had the pill before. will it make me ill ?

Not half as sick as pregnancy!

QueenFlounce · 14/06/2005 13:50

Ohhelp - The pill won't make you ill.... it just gave me PMT! But get it now.... you can buy it over the counter at teh pharmacists for £20.

ohhelp · 14/06/2005 13:56

Ohhelp, I don't know whether this applies but I understood that you couldn't take MAP if you were b'feeding, or at least you'd have to discard the milk for a few days after taking it. You have up to ,at least, 72 hours I think to have an IUD fitted , and if it were something you were considering anyway it might be an alternative option for you.

Thomcat · 14/06/2005 13:57

i took it once when I was 19 and I was given sea sickness tablets at sme time to help with the naseau. I thinkj they have improved the pill since and don't think it makes you sick anymore.

Better a morning of feeling a bit sick than an unwanted pregnancy so get that pill down you.

Is this your most-likely-to-be-fertile time, if you are regular? Was it a comnom with spermicide?

I think you can still be prescribed the MAP by your GP for a normal prescription charge, but obviously the pharmacy could be quicker. £25 I think TBH. Ring the surgery first, maybe ask the nurse to call you back?

QueenFlounce · 16/06/2005 10:49

Ohhelp - Did you get it??

ohhelp · 17/06/2005 07:12

yes i did thank you. the nurse said i had up to 72 hours? took it within 48. thank you everyone.
