Toddler Diarrhoea

Has anyone been told their child has toddler diarrhoea? My daughter has just been one and she has had diarrhoea for about 10 weeks now. Sometimes its only twice a day and then it gets worse again and can be as often as 10-12 times a day (when she gets a really sore bottom!). Seen the Dr twice, sent a poo sample which showed nothing abnormal. She is growing well (luckily she was shaped a lot like a dumpling before this started!) She is doing everything developmentally that she should, it shows no sign of bothering her apart from when her bottom is sore, when she obviously becomes very uncomfortable. Dr says toddler diarrhoea starts randomly after a challenge to the immune system, she had either chicken pox or an allergic reaction to mosquito bites (never been sure which!) while we were on holiday this summer. I am also curious about whether there could be any link between the sensitive bowel and baby led weaning which is how she was weaned. Experiences/advice anyone? PS It has got a lot worse this week following her vaccinations.

It could have been triggered by the vax. If her immune system reacted strongly it can take a while for the gut to calm down. Nothing to do with BLW.

There's not much you can do, apart from obviously avoiding any foods which make it worse (watch out too for painkillers which can cause constipation or diarrhoea).

Also, I find mine both get this when they are teething badly and there is no logical reason why but toddlers are just weird

Toddler's Diarrhea

DS1 has had Toddler's Diarrhea from a very young age, really since he has been weaned. He is now 6 1/2 years old, v well, v v active, but still has a rather soft poo at least 1x, maybe 2x a day.
His brother aged 5 has always been Mr Constipation, although he probably eats more fruit/veg.
I think a lot is to do with bowel transit time which are largely genetic (or so my bowel surgeon Dh tells me ).
HTH .

i have a 6 month old baby boy and 2 weeks ago he started to have diarrhea, i have seen 3 different doctors had stool samples taken, still waiting for culture results but microscopy results were normal. last night there was some blood in his stool and we were told to take him to hospital. the doctor proscribed whsoy. she said she wasn't at all concerned about him and he seems totally fine in every other way, its just i cant help but wonder why that cant tell me whats wrong with him, and when is it going to stop. some of his stools are toxic green slime, i guess this is bile. my partner works away monday to friday so am home alone and worrying myself sick. does this sound familiar to anyone else?
