Does anyone have any cures that WORK for Mouth Ulcers - Really getting me down...

Just looking for some advice on here, even though this is going to seem quite trivial compared to some of the really sad thread titles that I've seen...

I suffer a lot with mouth ulcers, aswell as throat ulcers, but this one has lasted a good week and I haven't actually bought any medication for it yet as I've never found anything that really works. The Bonjela type things don't actually stay on the ulcer, I find, and just wash around your mouth. The ones that I've got are on the side of my tongue so eating, drinking and talking is incredibly painful!!

I know that a rinse with salt-water helps in the long-term, but anyone know of anything that I can use to reduce the pain, just so that I can have a decent meal??!!

Thanks in advance!!

Change your toothpaste. My DSis was plagued by mouth ulcers for years until she read somewhere that certain toothpastes can trigger mouth ulcers in some people. She switched toothpastes and has hardly had any since.

Another thought on toothpastes. I ask my dentist not to use the paste when he polishes my teeth as this triggers my ulcers.

Corlan (tiny tablets that you suck) - brilliant.
Agree with others here - change your toothpaste. I used an organic clove number and came out in a zillion ulcers!
