Hey ladies

Looks like this thread has got a bit more life in it again, wahey!!!

I have burnt loads of calories today. Went to a forest adventure place, all cargo nets, rope swings and ziplines. Was REALLY fab fun, ended up filthy, soaking wet and knackered so it's all good. Brilliant place for kids! I'm all exhilarated

Norma - the card is gorgeous! Love it, have sent you a message on FB. Mwah, mwah

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 19/10/2009 22:03

Lizzy, I too have a coldsore at the moment. It's gross. I don't get them often but when I do, it always appears in exactly the same place. Grr!

Bloody grocery order came and he buggered off without giving us all our stuff - there's a whole tray worth missing.

I phoned the store and the man said 'how did you get this number?' - I looked it up on the internet, duh. (it's not listed on their website but not hard to find)

The man said he'd send the man in the van straight back. I'm expecting at least the delivery charge back, d'you reckon I could get more? Maybe I should write a letter of complaint afterwards, that always seems to go down well.

SqueezyCheesyPumpkin · 19/10/2009 22:49

Trills, forget it. Don't sweat the small stuff. You're not doing without and why get upset about it.

We got a few bags of someone elses shopping a few months ago, they came back out and collected it from us, no problem, sorted.

It's just a simple mistake.

TrillianSlasher · 19/10/2009 22:56

It's a simple mistake, and it could be fixed by a very simple thing: have the receipt say that it came in 4 boxes.

BiteOfFun · 19/10/2009 23:35

Shiney, lots of nurseries do term-time only, and chilminders certainly do. Surely you are giving them extra custom by going five days?

DevilsEnticeMadness · 20/10/2009 07:07

Morning ladies.
thought i'd wave at a blank sheet before leaving for school.
Have a good day everyone and i'll catch ya later.

jetonthedancefloor · 20/10/2009 08:40

morning all, i have been extremely busy trying and failing to finish an OU essay - i know that once i get onto MN i will stay all day arguing the toss over whether to feed my children chocolate for breakfast or something - so feel it is much safer to stay away until it is finished

Shiney - as BOF says, lots of places do term time only places, though usually there is some kind of retainer to pay - my CM does half fee. I am sure he will be fine though going 5 shorter days.

Norma - well done on the run

Hi to all other posters, hope everyone is still being good

My weigh in tomorrow - send me some prayers lol!

NormaSknockers · 20/10/2009 08:51

Morning all,

Tea anyone?

Shiney quite a few places do term time only, the nursery that DD goes to gets very quiet in the school holidays a lots of children go term time only. I would think it would be fine, when can you ask them?

Jet hope weigh in goes well tomorrow, have you a rough idea of your weight or are you holding fire til tomorrow?

Morning, i'm eating Quavers for breakfast, a collegue has just looked at me strange

so another collegue said he had dognuts for his breakfast, and that it was freshly made, then we got into a convo about how fresh?

and that it must be good for you if its made fresh, and that it must have been fried in vegetable fat, then went to to ponder how you get fat out off veg, and tried to think of a vegetable that was fattening, and couldnt

so concluded that vegetable fat must be good, therefore dognuts must be good for you, so its ok to eat them for breakfast

NormaSknockers · 20/10/2009 09:14

Well I like you're reasoning Vinny so guess it's doughnuts for breakfast from now on

OP posts:
VinegARGHHHTits · 20/10/2009 09:16

Yes, and jam is fruit, so jam dougnuts are even better, one of your 5 a day i would say

NormaSknockers · 20/10/2009 09:17

So if I have a jam doughnut & a piece of a carrot cake then that's 2 of my 5 a day!

OP posts:
TrillianSlasher · 20/10/2009 09:18

I don't think vegetable fat is made of vegetabley vegetables that you would eat, more likely to be oilseed rape or similar, which is more like a cerealy plant.

VinegARGHHHTits · 20/10/2009 09:20

Shiney your mini man will be fine going to nursery, but i know its a worry

The finnster has been full time at nuresry (5 days a week, 7.30 - 5.30) since he was 10 weeks old but you do what you got to do when your a one parent family don't you?

i had to go back to work full time after 10 weeks maternity because i couldnt afford not too, it killed me to leave him but he seems unaffected by it and is very chilled out and good (most of the time)

NormaSknockers · 20/10/2009 09:24

That must have been really hard Vinny

VinegARGHHHTits · 20/10/2009 09:31

Almost sent me loopy Norma, i ended up having to take 2 months off work with anxiety because i used to drop him off at nursery and then cry all the way to work (1 hour commute) and all day long i would imagine bad things happening to him, i was a bit of a mess

NormaSknockers · 20/10/2009 09:32

You poor thing, must have been a really awful time for you going through all that Were work supportive or a bit a useless?

OP posts:
VinegARGHHHTits · 20/10/2009 09:40

They were fine about it, not so much supportive, as they didnt offer any counselling (and they did have an in house counselling service) or ring to check up on me and stuff, but had no problem with me taking so much time off

NormaSknockers · 20/10/2009 09:41

So semi useless then

OP posts:
Slubberdegullion · 20/10/2009 09:51

Morning!

I have had a bowl of start and burnt off an entire weeks worth of calories in blind animal adrenalin panic after locking myself in the church.

yay

I'm playing catch up with your goings on (it's like trying to get into Emerdale for the first time) so am doing sympathetic noddings but not saying anything in case I put my foot in it.
