Operation fucking cancelled

Was due to have my gallbladder out next month and have just received a letter this morning saying the operation is cancelled, they can't offer me another date and will get in touch when they can.

How the fuck can they do this???

We want to start trying for another baby, we're not getting any fucking younger and what... is it going to be more months wait when they finally get round to it??

My DH has specific NHS appointments every 3 months but out of 10 they have cancelled 8

I would be in tears at this too.
get an appointment wit your gp and explain he situation. Ask if you can be referred to another hospital for op.

also contact pals for advice.
Hope you can get things sorted out.
Frequently it does feel like a fight to get treatment.

Unfortunately it's not feasible for me to go to another hospital as we don't have a car and they are miles away in other cities.

I would second calling the consultant's secretary and explain ops been cancelled and that you're trying to find out where you are in the system. I have found them to be really helpful in the past and if you explain your situation re TTC, may well be able to get you re-scheduled in. The referral process takes SO long, I've found best way is to get in there, on the phone and expedite it yourself.

I had my gallbladder taken out 2 weeks ago - and if the hospital had cancelled my operation, I would have felt exactly the same as you and definitely would have sat there and cried!!

Definitely think it is worth ringing up and finding out more information - I think it is the 'can't offer you another date' which would really really annoy me tbh.
