glasses question..any opticians out there??

hi, i've recently had an eye test and have aa prescription for +2 long sight in both eyes. I've got my glasses and I can't believe how clear everything looks! My question is should i wear them for driving? everything is a lot clearer with them on and i had been planning on wearing them all the time. I've recently seen some ready readers with +2 strength but it says they should not be worn for driving. Does anyone know why this is? surely the lenses in these will be the same as the lenses in my prescription specs. anyone any idea??

longsighted(hyperopia) means having the natural ability to see things clearly in the distance. You presumably need your glasses for reading and close work. Therefore they shouldnt be worn for driving as they are only suitable for close work.

They may not be the same as your prescription lenses as your optician may have corrected for things like astigmatism

reading glasses are very basic and should only really be used as an emergency...you get what you pay for.

Hi Optician here, ready readers are designed for older people who are presbyopic and therefore just need glasses for reading. If they were to wear their specs for driving then it would make their vision more blurred.
You're a lot younger and can wear the same glasses for distance and for reading and therefore you're hyperopic (as opposed to presbyopic). So you can wear your glasses for driving too. The optician you saw probably didn't specifically recommend it as you're probably within driving standard without glasses, however, if they are making your vision much clearer then wear them for driving.
