Just wanted to make sure I have got everything I need. Will most likely be staying in one night but it could be 3 or 4 depending on how the op goes.

OK, here's what I take when I have to go in, - nighty, slippers, dressing gown, undies. pair of warm socks. Book/mags. MP3player with your favourite songs, you might feel too tired to read.
Tissues, wet wipes (just to freshen up your face etc.)
A bit of cash, so you can pay for TV, phone, paper etc.
Fruity drink as a change from water. Oh and earplugs - in case you're in a ward with snorers . Obviously how much you take will depend on how long you stay, if its just overnight you might spend a lot of time sleeping off the anaesthetic. You could always make up a little bag of extra stuff which someone could bring into you if you have to stay longer than expected. Good luck, hope it all goes well.
