Revolutionaries of The Shiney Path - The Gorillas In Our Midst Eat Healthily

Welcome to our 22nd Healthy Eating thread under the auspicious eye of Shiney the Cult Leader. She is vegetarian (like a gorilla), but you don't have to be! Or hairy!

I may be getting distracted by my over-cryptic thread title (it is hard when all the obvious ones have been done- fwiw The Shining Path are a South American guerrilla group and I'm looking at watching Che on dvd later, what can I say...), but I have been appointed Tsar With Authority for Titles, and starting this on a Friday night may be ill-judged, BUT...

We are here with the aim of eating healthily, losing weight in varying amounts if that is what we wish, and most of all posting as often as we're able to support each other. We have a good laugh too. Allegedly. But we're no trouble, no siree...

New-comers very welcome, just introduce yourselves and pile in!

Just read that pink champagne story, my God that is too funny! I'm now not sure whether that is my favourite or the penguin story

Can I ask a question, did you go out with the waiter at a later date?

TrillianSlasher · 03/10/2009 22:20

Maybe in between jobs you should write these up...

Are floral gums flower-flavoured?

Lizzylou · 03/10/2009 22:22

OMG, I may be done for Matricide or something, my Mom is here and she has just drank a lot red wine and blamed me for the credit crunch/state of the nation. Because I told her ages ago I'd voted Labour.
I asked her why I should vote Tory and she couldn't answer, because I am too stupid apparently!
Gawd, thank CHrist Mr Red Flag Flying Lizzylou is in London, cos he'd be swapping his mild mannered demeanour for axe murdering his MIL I think.
She just gets so snooty and sneery when she's trying to argue her point, whilst actually not answering any questions.

Off outside for a fag ceremonial effigy burning.

Shiney - I think I love you. (but Pleeeaaase don't give me any man advice when I get round to throwing myself at the man market again )

TheIggorcist · 03/10/2009 22:25

Fantastic story! Eating nutella on toast (bad) but ran about botanic gardens for hours earlier (good). And not had a drink since Wednesday (saintly).

TrillianSlasher · 03/10/2009 22:26

I like parma violets, but I think I prefer my chewy sweets fruity.

DP says parma violets taste of soap.

MavisGrind · 03/10/2009 22:27

Lizzy - as one who has just endured had a lovely visit from my dear father you have my sympathies. Aparently my dcs are going to be irreperably damaged by the fact that I'm now a single parent. My position was not my choice. A bit of sympathy would have been nice.

Right, more gin.

Oh Lizzy - count to ten.....in fact count to a hundred, deep breaths

slimey - daft question but have you been to the docs?

Lizzylou · 03/10/2009 22:29

I love my Mom, but by Christ I can't stand being in the same room as her sometimes!
Selective memory and this uppity attitude is sooo wearing.
I miss her loads and then shes here and I remember why I haven't seen her for 3 mths.
Mavis, my sympathies, but I guess we will both turn into them soon! EEK!

Salsavita · 03/10/2009 22:30

Shiney, I really think it is time to get yourself to the dr's. This has gone on too long dont you think?

Solpadol is paracetamol with codeine. Shitloads of codeine. Where did you get it?

Lizzylou · 03/10/2009 22:32

Yep, Shiney, get thee to the doctors.
You have been ill for ages now.

BewareTheFullMoon · 03/10/2009 22:33

very cryptic dp.

Why can kids never actually ask for what they want. 2hrs of hitting and kicking, throwing, scratching and why. because he wanted a hot drink. by the time i found this out "mummy i was waiting for you to make me a hot drink" "how does mummy know that if you dont tell her" and made the dam thing he was asleep.

Right off to read the adventures of shiney before going back to being boring.

SqueezyCheese · 03/10/2009 22:34

Solpadol already contains Paracetomol so don't take them at the same time. It has codeine though so if you're having a hard time getting to sleep it may help?

Here

Salsavita · 03/10/2009 22:34

Shiney - I think Solpadol is a mixture of codeine and paracetamol eg cocodomol - which is what I had after my op. The stronger doses did not agree with me.

TrillianSlasher · 03/10/2009 22:34

If you want heavy-duty pain relief, take the solpadol. If there's only a smaller amount of pain and then other horribleness take the paracetamol. Don't take both cos they both have paracetamol in.

Be aware that codeine will probably knock you out - do you have a 2 year old with you tonight? Is he likely to need you suddenly?

TrillianSlasher · 03/10/2009 22:35

30 mg codeine is a lot - can you buy that without prescription?
