we have been up for over an hour now with my daughter in tears. She cannot got the top retainer off her teeth. it appears to be stick fast. My husband and I have both tried without success. Any tips from more experienced parents please? Bloody dentist didnt even show her how to do it.

Ugh, I sympathise, my retainer's got stuck before (partly why I now have fixed ones).

Try and calm her down and have a break from the removal attempts first of all.

You need to somehow break the vacuum that's formed between the retainer and her teeth. Have you tried giving her a hot/cold drink, which might help?

Does the dentist have an emergency number you could try?

stop panicking.
Phone the dentist in the morning
They will see her and show her how to take it off.

In the meantime, try pulling it from the bit furthest to the back at one side to break the seal, as trell says
