My Mum always used to seem really young for her age, she´s now 69 and in the last few years she has aged rapidly, she´s become quite doddery and seems like she´s 10 years older than she really is. She went to the doctor for advice about her balance and suggested to him she might have osteoporosis, she was tested and they said she had a mild onset and needed to take calcium. I think her hearing is getting worse so maybe her lack of balance is to do with her ears? Also she´s very inactive and can´t be persuaded into getting fit - she used to like swimming but complains the water is too cold at the pool. She also drinks more than she used to - 2 to 3 glasses of wine a night. My Dad has tried to persuade her to drink less and do more but she just feels like we´re nagging and claims she´s happy as she is. Any suggestions? Can you tell me what activities your mums do that she might enjoy. Thanks.
