First period after giving birth?

I gave birth eight weeks ago and have been solely breast feeding since then and I am very surprised that I have had what seems to be a period begin this morning, is that ok?

My friend's periods didn't start until they stopped breast feeding.

Help!

I soley BF for 6 months and I had 1 period in that time, lots of people I know including my own midwife had periods when exclusively BF. So dont rely on it as contraception

I was exclusively feeding day and night, every 2hrs at least and they came back when dd was 13 weeks.

Some women get them back while feeding, some don't. It's normal.

Don't be surprised if they're irregular/infrequent though as your hormones will take a while to settle.
