I am getting my ears syringed next week so have been preparing by putting olive oil in my ear, since i have been doing this i feel like i have a nasal drip and flem in my throat - Could this be the oil? And if it is, is it safe to do as i am pregnant and worried my baby will be getting oil - Or am i being silly? Also does syringing hurt cos dreading it

no it's not the oil

your outer ear isn't connected to your nose/throat as your eardrum is in the way

and no your baby isn't getting it either

YOU ARE SO LUCKY getting them syringed. . You realise how deaf you have been. My SIL does it as she's a practice nurse where she lives but she won't come up and do mine.
