Morning all,

just catching up while cooking 4 full english (one without bacon. And relishing the fact that tonight will be the first night that we haven't had anyone in the house since June 11th. Woo Hoo.

Tis another beautify=ul day here so hope evryone else has a good day.

FlamingoBingo · 13/09/2009 08:19

Morning everyone.

Syc - thanks for the period/weight loss info. And not thanks to you lot who are too busy being flippant to answer a sensible question!

BOF - you are brilliant.

DreamsInBinary · 13/09/2009 08:29

Morning everyone

I am feeling a little fragile.

Sorry FB - I'm in the same boat, only three periods between the children and since dd (18 months) they have been so messed up that I don't know what's going on.

I'd imagine that it would take a couple of days for the water retention to disperse.

Lizzylou · 13/09/2009 08:33

Have you tried herbal water retention tablets, I have HRI Water Balance tablets as I really retain water every month.

Or, if they are not suitable (if you are still Breast feeding) then Fennel tea and watercress always make me feel "lighter".

DIB, hope you're head clears.
5gomad, enjoy your peace and quiet

FlamingoBingo · 13/09/2009 08:39

I'm not worried about the water retention - it's not a problem. It's just that I noticed I lost no weight again for a little bit, and also that I felt like I looked like a blob even though people were telling me otherwise. Then my period started and I realised why I'd felt like a blob, and just wondered if I would notice a larger weight loss after my period because of it IYSWIM

Lizzylou · 13/09/2009 08:50

FB, sorry got all confused.
When it's my period I either maintain or put on, then get a bigger loss the week after.
So yes, it is the water retention.
I had it awfully after DS2, my fingers were like sausages and my face all puffy.

bellavita · 13/09/2009 08:57

Hello ladies

Just drinking a cup of coffee then I will have the 0% yog breakfast. Will have a salad for lunch and it is a roast pork dinner for tea.

Might not be around much during today as we have a stack of stuff to do and I am trying to motivate everyone to get their backsides into gear and help then it will be done quicker. I know what will happen though, DH will be on his laptop all bloody morning as per usual on a weekend. Gah!

Lizzylou · 13/09/2009 09:01

Bella, crack that whip!
Cyber Cinders, are you OK?

Boys have been colouring in/drawing and doing homework since 7am - their choice, so they are allowed Spongebob on, and as DH has gone in the shower no more Match of the Day!

ABW, hope that you are OK today.

Sycamoretreeisvile · 13/09/2009 09:02

Morning non-munchers

DD starts reception tomorrow.

It's going to be fine, it's going to be fine, it's going to be fine.

DoNotBringLulu · 13/09/2009 09:02

Morning all!!

I am the artist formerly known as LovelyLulu.

Day 3 of my losing weight by eatinghealthilyatmealstimes and lashingsofexercise.

Flam - I think you would notice a weight loss after your period due to loss of the fluid. I notice a weight loss after having a pee, but mustn't get on the scales too often, that's partly why I've failed at weight loss before, too obsessive.

We are off to the woods today.

DoNotBringLulu · 13/09/2009 09:04

Syc, my dd has done 3 half days in reception, next week she is staying for lunch. She is fine. I was the wuss and snivelled as I was walking out of the playground.

Can you stay with her for a little while after dropping off?

FlamingoBingo · 13/09/2009 09:06

Syc - eek! My DD would be in reception too! How come she's starting so late in September?

Will hold your hand tomorrow.

Everyone come and inspire me.

Lizzylou · 13/09/2009 09:06

Oh Syc, she will be fine.
YOu on the other hand, take some tissues!
Your DD will love school, but she will be very tired and hungry when she gets home.
DS1 is like a hoover and just wants to veg on the sofa for at least 1/2 hour to regroup.
It is a long day and all new.
DS1 is in Year 1 and loves school, I cried and cried on his first day (and his first practice afternoon, first parents evening..)

DoNotBringLulu · 13/09/2009 09:07

Lizzy, agree Syc will need some tissues - I did.

Lizzylou · 13/09/2009 09:18

How old is/are your DC Lulu?

I was such a state! He loved it though and it is a lovely school.
I think when DS2 goes next year, "my baby", I may be even more emotional.

DoNotBringLulu · 13/09/2009 09:23

Lizzy, my dd is 4 yrs 8 months, ds is 7. My ds wasn't really ready for school, he was only 4 yrs 1 month, they put him on an IEP for a few things.

DD, on the other hand, bounced in and is already organising her social life, a little girl asked to come and play on Friday!!

I was quite snivelly on Friday, she's my last, no more babies now.

Lizzylou · 13/09/2009 09:27

That'll be me, Lulu next September!
Good for your DD that she's settled in so well.
Both DS's are March babies, so about ready to go by September, that must have been so hard for your DS. Just 4 is very young for full time school, isn't it?
DS2 has just started preschool and the ladies keep telling how polite and lovely he is. Just wait until they see one of his strops! They may change their mind, he is like a bear, affectionate and cuddly one minute, roaring and ruling the house the next. His temper is quite scary.

Hi, have read the thread but don't have time to comment also.

Except this..

And ABW, I hope you understand and forgive me for this. Because these ladies are extraordinary and I think if anyone at all can help it is a good thing.

I read the advice for ABW and it is good, the changing name thing, the visualisation (amazing post BoF). I met ABW on here and since christmas we have become very good friends.

She is one talented Lady,

Writing, Cooking the most amazing cakes, she crocheted me some gloves that IMO could be sold in a swanky boutique, A fabulous sense of humour with a quick wit and sense of fun. She is deeply caring of others and in many ways the most selfless individual I have met.

But, and I wouldn't dream of betraying ABW's trust, she has NO self esteem. Not low, or damaged. None. So the suggestions, whilst positive might be hard to take on board until that is improved.

ABW, come on here in the evenings, I love it both because the company is corrupting me fabulous, and because like trill says, it is a form of escapism that can lift you, and the humour and overall positiveness is infectious.

You have so many people that care about you, The 10/10ers, even on here after a short time, and I would be devastated if the Black Dog became a longterm companion......you need a fluffy poodle with glittery ribbons in it's pom-poms! Find the fight again, kick some 'BD' arse and let the light back in....holding your hand and hugging you all the way.........

And please, from the bottom of my heart, stop drinking, it isn't your friend and never will be..

,
