Pea sized lump

Last week I noticed a pea sized lump in my left breast near my cleavage. It seems to be round and smooth, and attached to my skin (can't pinch the skin on top of the lump). If when pinching it, I push my fingers down into my breast, I can sort of feel a 'root' leading to it.

I gave birth 6 weeks ago, and have no idea if it is some sort of blocked duct or something to worry about as it is mainly painless; sometimes very slightly tender. When I first noticed it, the skin over the lump was pink and the lump was tender to touch - hence me assuming some sort of blocked duct. But now the pain has gone, and I'm left with this lump

I will be seeing my GP when I get the balls to make an appointment. Just wondered if anybody else had noticed similar lumps in their breasts after giving birth?

I had a small lump in my areola which was about the size of a pea. Asked the doctor at my 6 week check and she said it was probably a blocked milk duct. It went away about 4 -6 weeks later. Im sure yours is probably the same thing but definitely get it checked, if not just to put your mind at rest x

Thanks for replying My 6 week check is actually an 8 week check as our surgery is so busy I should have asked the midwife to have a quick look today when I took DD to be weighed but it completely slipped my mind.

2 weeks seems like ages to wait to get it checked, but even if I made an appointment now to see my GP - I'd still have a 2 week wait.

We don't have a family history of breast cancer, but two of my sisters have had cysts in their breasts. May be the same.

Do milk ducts go that far back and close to the surface? It literally is right where my breast meets my chest wall in between breasts, but very much in my breast tissue and not attached to my chest wall.
