Skin cancer question, im having a meltdown

I have noticed a black blood blister type thing on my thigh, only small but it is raised and smooth, i stupidly googled and have now become convinced i have a rare form of skin cancer that will pop me off within a couple of months

Please can anyone share their experiances with me, or tell me if you have the same thing and its harmless?

hello m2000, do not drive yourself up the wall, please, you sound so upset. Take the appointment you can get the quickest, do not wait for 2 bloody weeks. Hope it goes well.

I agree mum - i know how worring it is - take the first appt you can - even if it is just to reassure you - you can't wait for 2 weeks being as upset as you are.

no they couldnt do today in the end , have booked next mon ,but am going to see my gp today , have calmed down a little, anxiety and worry was out of control ,trying to look at possotive s ,
no classic signs of SK ie .. no itch ,no red, not bigger than pencil ,not different colours or raised , so hoping will be ok ?

will see what doc says if i not happy will go to new clinic monday .

an due to see my other lady in 3 weeks time for year check .as i said i saw her in july as was anx again over mole on my back and leg so she saw me then .

Hey everyone, well... my weird black thing dropped off,but is now growing back. Whats ya thoughts? docs or not? would black mole thing drop off and come back if they where bad?

sounds as though wart type thing if was real bad not sure it would fall off and re..grow , best to get checked out by GP be on safe side .

sorry its me again , i just need someone to talk to ...im so worried i may have skin cancer i went to doc regarding one mole , to get all clear and then when i was in bath shaved my legs to find aftr bath a feeling of soreness on a freckle/slight raised so i looked with mag glass and see it was red one side the other light tan ...iv hardly slept with worry ...this morning its not so red but im still sooo worried , will bypass doc today if i can and call mole clinic i couldnt get into yesterday, and beg them to see me , i have appt on monday but dont think can wait that long ...

its our wedding anniversary today to and im in tears with fear ....

sorry im blabbing but feel so alone ...hubby gone to work

Right - sounds like you've irritated your skin with the shaving but of course you should get it checked. An appointment next week is fine. Even the fastest growing nasty isn't going to get critical in that time. Skin cancer is becoming increasingly common but it is still a rare event iyswim. You're doing all the right things now just try to put it out of your head till next week.

It's hard sometimes when there is so much in the media about different horrible things not to let that get to us and make us feel vulnerable but for most of the people, most of the time life passes in a broadly healthy way. Try to remember how much more likely it is that you will die aged 80 plus after a happy and fulfilled life - let that be your focus and don't let your joyful moments be stolen by abstract fear. It's your anniversary - congratulations - you'll be around for many, many more!

than kyou north for kind words , i am in a bit of a state ...i have an appt next mon , m ent to be working today at 12 , i will be letting people down if i dont go i i know .

it is a bit sore but not so red as was when got out of bath , wasnt sore before i shaved , and i shaved 2 weeks prior to that and didnt notice it then ...

iv just had a bad go with my anx and last night when i saw my doc she gave me some AD to try but im to scared to take them and DH not keen either ..

not sure if i should phone clinic or wait now....

Start another thread about the ADs - ask for peoples experiences of taking them and name the brand. It may help to reassure you. Your doctor would only prescribe something which is safe and appropriate. Lots of people have anxiety issues - it's ok to need a bit of help with that.
