Will this chest infection ever go?

Now had it for 5 weeks. Had 4 different types of ABs.and currently on steroids for 5 days. Keep feeling as though I am getting better then feel worse again. Drs said to ring this week if not 100% better, so will be off there again. Started in one lung then in both now just in the one again. Really getting me down now. Anyone had anything similar please? (and how long did it take to feel well again?) Thanks

Thanks NellyNoNorks - you certainly had an awful time of it. It is reassuring though that others have been through the same and have come through the other end (eventually) ok! My sputum and bloods came back fine. Waiting very anxiously for chest x-ray results. Thanks again.

Hi mumof3teens - sorry I just noticed your message to me (didn't see page 2!! - this discussion board is new to me!!!). You have had an awful time, glad you are beginning to feel normal again. My bloods came back normal and sputum normal (but again, like you I don't really think I got enough that time, and I don't know if being on all those AB's would make any difference to test results). I finish this last lot of AB on Mon so hopefully things will improve. I also have had tightness in my chest - still anxious about my chest x-ray. Hope your friends get better soon.

Mumofom - I am sure that you would have been contacted by now if anything Was really amiss with your x Ray. Take care.
