Nutty - Try some Homeopathic remedies. Like Sepia. They lifted my mood and made me feel less lethargic when I was recovering from PND.

There are loads of different remedies for lots of different hormonal symptoms.

nutcracker · 31/05/2005 09:04

Sepia, right thanks for that, will have a look when i'm out later.

Did you get anything Nutty? I cant recommend agnus castus enough. Has helped turn me from a raging monster into a placid kitten

i recently got boots monthly cycle supplement in a gold and yellow box, it has one capsule for each day and then an extra one to take aswell as for the week before your period. so far i would say that i still have some pmt but it is much milder.

Tried starflower oil capsules (MN recommednation a while back) & they definitely seem to be working - good luck

Hi no didn't manage to get anything yesterday due to late buses etc etc.

Will have a browse on friday when I go shopping.

Thanks for all the suggestions

can I add a word of caution about agnus castus - I used it ages ago, and had the most awful side effects - didn't realise the two were related until I did more research - just bought them over the counter at a chemist - no one checked I was 'OK' to take them (should not take them if you are on the pill is one thing), if you are going down the homeopathic route, would strongly suggest seeing an expert.

nutcracker · 01/06/2005 16:32

Oh bugger, am just about to go back on the pill actually.

Hmm might have to research this a bit more then.

glad I mentioned it then - is there a homeopathic expert on MN?

Oh really Didnt realise..anywhere we can look to find out these things?

desperatehousewife · 01/06/2005 16:51

I've always had bad PMT up to 10 days before my period every month. I swear by oil of evening primrose and a vit B6 supplement. Starflower oil instead of oil of evening primrose is the same sort of thing though.

I will be watching this thread with interest...
I realise that I suffer from PMT... for a couple of days before my period, its an effort to smile and little things get on my nerves... I found some site on the internet and it gave a chart to plot your cycle and moods... anyway I showed the kids and my husband.. and said kids... this is when you are going to be really good, and to my husband.. this is when your going to be really nice to me it helped me knowing it was PMT and that I am not turning into a grumpy old woman... I used to think that PMT was a load of old codswalop and women with it moaned about nothing... ha I was wrong... very wrong...
I will be trying Evening primrose and vitamin B6 myself...
good luck
