So, if it's not cervical cancer, what could it be? I really should be patient and wait for the experts but can't help worrying...

I had laser treatment for CIN level 2 cells about 10 years ago and have had clear smear tests ever since. However, since having DD2 (2yrs old), my periods have been hurrendous, to the point where I almost rang an ambulance once. I've never been strictly regular, generally around every 3 weeks or so but in the last year I can vary from 5 weeks to 2 weeks. When I'm on my period, it hurts to poo and hurts when my bladder is full. I even rang the emergency doctor once as having a poo made me bleed. Went to see the doctor in July and told her all of this, thinking I may have fibroids (my Mum has really bad ones) and begged to be sterilised as I really don't want any more kids. (long story!). I also had my smear done while there so she checked for fibroids, but found nothing... She convinced me to have the merina coil fitted and I agreed as I can't cope with all these problems any more.

Since then, I've had spotting inbetween periods and I came on two weeks early on holiday, then had more spotting last week as well as discharge. I've been constantly aching like I'm on my period and my hips have been in agony (have been since I had SPD with DD2) but moreso than usual. Then, we come back off holiday to a letter saying I need to see the colposcopy clinic, rang the doctor (my regular GP) to find out how that effects me having the coil fitted. He said to wait until I see the clinic and that I have CIN level 3 cells this time and that if I don't get an appointment in the next few days to ring him and he'll hurry them up. Got the appointment through and it's for next Wednesday (DD2's 2nd birthday ).

My nanny died of Cervical Cancer so my head is going in all different directions. My mum had an early menopause at 38, I'm now 32 so could it be that? OR could it be cists or something not so sinister? I really don't want any more children so I'd be happy to have a hysterectomy if they want me to, it would certainly end all of this pain and worrying. Part of me knows it'll all be fine, but part of me is spinning about the 'what ifs'...

Sorry to babble, well done if you've got this far lol!

Got home yesterday and family are looking after me well - can't get used to the idea of staying in bed just yet but I'm sure I'll cope lol!

Had a bit of a bad experience - op went well, he left my ovaries in, found evidence of endometriosis scarring or something too. But when I got back from theatre, the spinal ran out within ten minutes and I was in agony. Almost felt like they didn't believe me, had to keep telling them - they then noticed how much was coming out of the drain and eventually rushed me back to theatre in the night - I was bleeding internally due to an atery being nicked in my tummy so my abdomen was full of blood and I had clots building up between the muscles of my tummy. Had to have 4 units of blood transfusions etc.

Because they had to go back in through the original cut, I've now got 28 staples across my tummy, extremely uncomfortable!

Also, when the original op was being done, he found that I had lots of stuff backed up in my bowels so I've had the joy of having to get rid of it, without straining or pushing so have had tonnes of movicol and even a suppository. Not all of it has worked just yet but I'm getting there.

The hospital staff were lovely but almost punched the poor nurse who pulled out the second drain (had an extra one put in after the second surgery) - how painful was that!!!!!!!!!!!!

So glad to be home, just trying to keep the wound clean and dry, having staples taken out on Tuesday.
