ooh I know all about this, my previously normal brother got in to conspiracy theories, and believes all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff, as long as it's from a dodgy website and not the 'controlled' media. It makes for very entertaining meetings:

Basically there is no point in reasoning or rationalising with people who believe conspiracy theories because they have the ultimate get-out clause, which is that all the information which contradicts their position is a conspiracy.

Type in prisonplanet.com or infowars.com and you'll find plenty research material on swine flu. Links as well. Dont take chances with your health or your kids health unless you're totally clued up, you need to make informed decisions. Dont listen to lazy b*tches who call it all conspiracy theory,but who wont research it themselves. Big pharma and your govt are trying to pull the wool over your eyes and it's not just for profit.The Chief Medical Officer of the BMA is Liam Donaldson, who also happens to be on the payroll of Glaxo Smithkline, and who is advocating mass vaccinations. What really pisses me off about these conspiracy theorists is that some of what they are saying is actually TRUE. But they present it so stupidly, mixing fact with fiction and being complete twunts generally that no-one will listen to them. For example, the thing written above about Liam Donaldson also sitting on a board at GlaxoSmith Klein is true, as far as I know. Baxter did make a bit of a cock up, and you can read about in in mainstream media. (here) The problem is that this loony then jumps to all sorts of conclusions because of these things, and tries to ram it down peoples throats.

What we need, and what MN is great at helping people to do, is to make up our own minds, do our own reading. And decide what we personally believe. I won't be having the vaccine, nor will my partner or my son. That's just our choice, and I wouldn't dream of telling anyone else what to do.

That's true cheeful. But it ends up distorted, exagerated, estrapolated.

For example - the info about all the nasties they can put into vaccines. Yes there is evidence that those things can happen in a minority of those immunised. But the links suggest that everyone have those side effects.

There are also lots of nasties reported here...most (if not all) will not be in the vaccines the UK will recieve. Thirmosil is the big one which worries people. Those links (or it might be on another consiracy theory believers thread) state that thirmosil WILL be in the GSK vaccine. I have actually done pretty thorough research into teh GSK vaccine and have found no evidence of thirmosil in it (as much as the info publically available reveals). It does however look likely to contain Squalene - which has raised some concerns in it's own right (which I personally, and the medical literature dispute BTW)...however I have seen no mention of the putative dangers of squalene in any of those links (but I may have missed it through skim reading).

It would be good if they were actually posting about things that actually relate to the vaccines that are intended for this country and not pick up on the concerns associated with every other vaccine ever developed...

#1 - The vaccine production was "rushed" and the vaccine has never been tested on humans. Do you like to play guinea pig for Big Pharma? If so, line up for your swine flu vaccine this fall...

#2 - Swine flu vaccines contain dangerous adjutants that cause an inflammatory response in the body. This is why they are suspected of causing autism and other neurological disorders.

#3 - The swine flu vaccine could actually increase your risk of death from swine flu by altering (or suppressing) your immune system response. There is zero evidence that even seasonal flu shots offer any meaningful protection for people who take the jabs. Vaccines are the snake oil of modern medicine.

#4 - Doctors still don't know why the 1976 swine flu vaccines paralyzed so many people. And that means they really have no clue whether the upcoming vaccine might cause the same devastating side effects. (And they're not testing it, either...)

#5 - Even if the swine flu vaccine kills you, the drug companies aren't responsible. The U.S. government has granted drug companies complete immunity against vaccine product liability. Thanks to that blanket immunity, drug companies have NO incentive to make safe vaccines, because they only get paid based on quantity, not safety (zero liability).

#6 - No swine flu vaccine works as well as vitamin D to protect you from influenza. That's an inconvenient scientific fact that the U.S. government, the FDA and Big Pharma hope the people never realize.

happily, this is a uk site. In the uk, we have the nhs, which has to fund the medication. They will not shell out for unresearched medication. So I think we're pretty safe.
