what does bleeding little bits between periods mean?

ive never had this before but this month ive been bleeding on and off ever since my last period finished (only little watery bits). and when i did have that last period it was extremely light and not like a proper period too but extremely terrible period pains unlike any i ever have

any ideas what this could mean?

I think it means you should see your GP.

I had that recently and GP said it was probably an unusual period. He took a swab (normal) and told me to wait for an arbitrary amount of time and then take prescribed blood stopping drugs.

The bleeding stopped before I needed to take the drugs though.

It's probably nothing but best to see your GP to put your mind at rest.

Assuming you've had sex with anyone in the last six months, take a pregnancy test just to be sure (because GP will ask you about it) and book to see GP. It's probably nothing but should be checked out.

im having a colposcopy on friday do you think the doc who does that will be able to tell me what it could be, or do you think i should see doc before then?

I had bleeding between periods - GP was great did swabs for infection (including STD's) and internal exam then referred me on to a gynae, who examined me, did smear test and sent me for an ultrasound. Nothing showed up on any of the tests, he said it was probably hormonal, I can't remember what hormone it was he said that was low sorry. He also said it was quite common in women my age (37) and usually cleared up by itself after a few months. Which it did.

During the process of these tests etc various things were suggested as likely causes, such as an erosion on teh cervix, polyps etc.

Go see your GP, it is worth it to put your mind at rest.

my doc is away until next week so i think i will bring it up with gyne when he does my colposcopy. i had a colposcopy before which showed abnormal cells which i had to then have removed so im worried this bleeding is connected with the abnormal cells returning.

will be glad when friday is over and done with
