Knee problem

I have found that when I kneel my right knee hurts and I cannot kneel properly. Now this morning my knee is sore and and hurts when I go up and down the stairs so really what I am saying is that when I bend it or put pressure on it - it hurts.

It's the inside part of my right knee. I have booked into see a doctor - but couldn't get an appointment until next Wednesday.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Sounds like pre patellar bursitis or housemaid's knee. In the joint there is a bursa which is like a jelly filled sac this can become inflamed and swollen and generally caused by kneeling wrongly too often.

Avoiding kneeling can help, ant inflammatories like ibuprofen can help, physio can give you exercises too.

Just realised I posted this twice - anyway I couldn't wait to see the doctor and I saw a physio-chap today who told me that everything was fine and I have not damaged anything serious. The problem is that I have flat feet therefore I need to get adequate arch support to prevent my knee twisting when I run and taking all the pressure.
