I am so tired. I feel so so so sick. Tonight at work I got so tired I thought I would just fall over. Just so sleepy. Then around 8:30 I thought oh shit I'm going to be sick. And ever since then I have been covering up my mouth to calm it down and I feel really sick. Havent actually been sick yet.

DS developed a rash today & has a headache and neck ache I started a thread about that in childrens health we took him to OoH gp who said it looked viral and not necessarily chicken pox which is what I was worried about.

What is wrong with me? I feel so sick. I dont have a temp.

It was an easter change, I can't think of what to change it to, I don't fancy going back to avenenap.

Being hot/sweaty is a fever me love. It sounds swiney to me aswell. Are you coughing??

hereidrawtheline · 10/08/2009 15:30

I think you should embrace the rabid rabbit inside you and keep fluffybunny

I have well and truly been sweaty and burning hot for ages today and every time I take my temp it is just below 37. I dont get it! I called the GP to get advice about DS's spots/rash and spoke to them about me too and they said you sound very swiney but for the temp - if you get a temp call the pandemic people to get tamiflu. And other than the temp I would swear I had it as I feel so rotton.

Sorry it is terrible to waffle on about myself like this! I just wish I could sleep for ages. I am coughing a little bit and very sniffly & tired.

I would but there isn't anything fluffy about me!

I trained as a paeds nurse, I've seen children with meningitis and no temp so I know it's possible. I can never tell if I have a temp, I shiver when it's really high though. I'd treat your bug as swine flu (maybe ask them of they can test you for it), the treatment's still the same though, plenty of fluids. Sudafed is fantastic for sniffles and a headache. How's your little one's rash?

hereidrawtheline · 10/08/2009 16:01

He gained a few spots on his tummy today. And complaining still of headache and then tummy ache. I am really bad at stopping working when I am ill, mainly because like many people there is no one to help if I throw the towel in! I am trying to decide if I get someone to work for me tomorrow night & potentially lose the days wages. If I knew I had swine I would probably feel I owed it to society to stay at home but if I am just knackered with the sniffles then that seems silly.

If you namechanged again would you want the new one to have a nod to the old one in it?

I suppose I'd have to. It would help wouldn't it.

I know that you loose wages to have a day or so off, however, if you go in when you are clearly ill and overdo it, you'll need more then a day off to recover so in a way it's counter productive. A day or so off is better then needing a week off. I have the sniffles aswell, it's the holidays thankfully though but it's not nice feeling like this. I'm not feeling as bad as you are though.

Which thermometer are you using? I used two digital mouth thermometers which gave me temps of between 36.5 and 37.2, then I borrowed a friend's Braun ear thermometer, which within 5 seconds gave me a temp of 38.6...

They're about £35, but well worth the investment.

Oh, and yes I did have SF. DH also had it, but only had a temp of more than 38 once, so it can be fairly easy to miss.

I'm fairly certain DS had it as well, as he had all the symptoms, but no temp, but I find it very odd to think that we had SF and DS just had a cold the very same week .

Hope you feel better soon

hereidrawtheline · 10/08/2009 16:28

my thermometer is a cheap tesco digital one It was about £2! DH is looking to see if he can find our mercury one now...

That isn't going to be very accurate. These can be about 1-1.5 degrees out. Do you have a lovely neighbour who has an ear thermometer?

Stick it on your shopping list with carbon monoxide detectors.

hereidrawtheline · 10/08/2009 16:34

LOL fluffy you are going to bankrupt me, thermometers, CM detectors, days off work...

BLOODY HELL

mercury therm says JUST OVER 99 degrees!!!!!!! I HAVE SWINE FLU!

OP posts:
FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 10/08/2009 16:37

Phone them up and get some tamiflu. Don't go to work.

see, if you had an ear thermometer you would have found out alot earlier.

hereidrawtheline · 10/08/2009 16:38

it was just a couple of points below 100 above the 99. gotta work out what that is on c...

fluffy can you move next door to me we are clearly crap at taking care of ourselves!

OP posts:
FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 10/08/2009 16:39

Oh yes, ibuprofen can help to reduce a fever, take paracetamol in between the ibuprofen doses. Plenty to drink. Lots of rest.

hereidrawtheline · 10/08/2009 16:40

hang on 99.2 is just 37.3 does that constitute swine flu?

OP posts:
FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 10/08/2009 16:42

I thought you had carbon monoxide poisoning so I'm not much good either!!

99.5 f =37.5 c by the way.
Stay at home, keep checking it.

FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 10/08/2009 16:43

nope. Normal body temp is from 36.5-37.5, sorry.

hereidrawtheline · 10/08/2009 16:44

shit I really thought I had a fever that had registered and not just making me feel so bloody hot. Will keep checking. sigh. I just want a big stamp clearly defining what is wrong!

OP posts:
FluffyBunnyGoneBad · 10/08/2009 16:46

Maybe it's swine flu but your body's really good at regulating it's temp? Do keep checking it.

Naetha · 10/08/2009 17:04

Also don't forget that if you've taken paracetamol then your temperature will have dropped considerably.

hereidrawtheline · 11/08/2009 08:10

hello here is me still the same. ah well... think I am going to go to work tonight

I asked DH to stay home today so I could sleep all day but he cant so I figure if I can run around after a 3 year old all day I can sit behind a till for 4 hours.
