Hi,
I got my Gall bladder out 2yrs ago. I recovered well and thought that was that.
However sometimes, generally in middle of the night I get pain very similar to the pain of gall stones. It's agony and I'm often writhing on bed.
On occassion I feel sick and vomit.
the funny thing is my period always comes next day or so.
The pain isn't anything like period cramps and is higher up (sort of bra starp level)and feels exactly like gall stones.
Had attack last night and if wasn't for fact DH was away overnight would've phoned NHS24.
Anyone have any idea what this may be.
Hve beeen to gp but got nowhere. had a liver funvtion test but it came back normal, though will go back tomorrow.

WOW!!
Never even considered that.
Have been thinking all sorts and wondered if it was something like pancreatitis, but that makes a lot of sense.
Thanks will mention to dr tomorrow.

Hi went to dr and she has no idea what's causing this. Been given muscle relaxant and told to keep diary of next few attacks.
Did say may be Endometriosis but nothing can be done for that.

Did they actually take out your gallbladder or bypass it? Or just squeeze out the stones?

I have had the same and had my gall bladder out nearly 2 years ago too. Just been dx with IBS, caused by the removal keep a food diary, see if there is anychance a food trigger is causing it.

Hi Ive had the same but no gall bladder issues, had multitude of tests, liver functions, food allergies, endoscopy, ulta sounds etc but still nowhere near answer. Every doc I see doesn't have a clue, only thing I can figure out is if I eat crappy macdonalds or burgerking etc I get it! go figure. So sorry no answers but I always make sure I have a hebal heat pillow thing with me when I go away.
I hope you get some answers.

Hi

Did you ever get this sorted? I had mine out 7 weeks ago. All was going well, until i went on holiday and since the fifth day of holiday I have been experiencing pain, although has lessened until today when its all falred up big time. pain is up high and is like cramps. Also had diarrhoea today which i havent had since just after my op. Would be interested to know the outcome of your problem Babyramone
