I had the copper coil tt380 slimline fitted on the 9th July. Since then i have had severe constipation and stomach cramps to the stage that they told me i had pelvic inflammotory disease although swaps have since come back clear. Doctors said it was more like IBS and since then i have needed laxatives to make me go and i am not even getting an "urge to go" (sorry if tmi). I dont want to live on Laxatives for ever and am considering having the coil removed. Anyone else had a similar experience whilst fitted with the coil??

I have the copper coil and have the same symptoms. I have consulted doctor and having it removed. I had mine inserted at a GUM clinic and they did not have my medical notes. Doctor said I should not have had the coil with having IBS as the copper can irritate it making symptoms worse.
Hope this helps.

I stuck with the copper coil for four years, but on reflection remember that every period when the coil was in I had agonising stomach cramps with severe onstipation. So I feel that I def had some of the symptoms you have described. I would feel it is worth your while to have it removed.
