How much time off do I need to recover from tonsillitis ?

I'm off work today, my throat hurt too much and I have temp too. When will I stop being contagious ??

I had it two week ago on the same day and took the rest of the week off, not because you are contagious but because you need to recover. The nurse told me as long as I didn't stick my tongue down anyone's throat I wouldn't pass it on.
