I've recently started taking Noriday (mini-pill) and think it's having an effect on my moods. Although it could just be that I'm tired and narky cause DS is 6 months and still waking up twice a night most of the time. And when he does sleep well, DD usually wakes up!

Just wondered if anyone else has had the same. I was also considering changing to the contraceptive implant (cause I already keep forgetting to take the pill!) but am wary in case it has similar side effects.

Any thoughts oh wise mumsnetters?

Hi there, just recently started taking it too. I have a little girl who has just turned two and a 12 week old boy. Dr gave me Noriday as I'm breastfeeding. I normally find looking after them hard work but fine. Without a doubt noriday has made me miserable. I just spoken to my husband as I have decided not to take it any more. I have been feeling upset at the slightest of things, really moody, angry, low self esteem & my skin has broken out in spots after being clear for years. I have been on pills in the past & have had similar experiences but thought I might be different a few years down the line. I have decided that taking hormones just doesn't agree with me. I'm sure everyone's different but I would be really really cautious of having the implant personally.

Hope my experience is of use x

Hello

I took Noriday after the birth of my 2nd - even though I didn't want to. Doctor was more interested at my 6 week check about my sex life than my screaming baby, curious 3 yr old or my 3rd degree tears!!! Anyway, took the stupid things for 1 month before remembering how crap they make you feel and also realized there was very little point at that stage in my post-baby relationship with DH.

My advice would be don't take it unless you have to. Don't know much about implants though, have you considered other options, know quite a few friends who have had the coil post pregnancy - don't know how you feel about that...

Hi. I've been taking Noriday for 6 weeks and have seen a definate change in my mood - exactly as you have all described ..... Low self esteem, feeling sad, moody. I have a 3 year old and 5 month old and they keep me busy but so far I have been able to cope quite well. I have stopped taking the pill a couple of days ago and really hoping I feel better soon!
