Ok first of all dd (20 months) hit her head on a cupboard last night. It left a small mark and a lump but nothing much.

She was fine earlier but now she keeps been sick!! About 5 times and theres loads and loads
Shes fallen asleep now.

Do you think it has anything to do with the bump on her head?
Shall I just give her normal food for dinner or something else?

Dd has only ever been sick once before and that was when she was tiny so I ain't got a clue what to do

i would take her to the docs just to be on the safe side

SandyR · 23/05/2005 11:05

I would ring your doctors surgery straightaway and ask them for advice as I think you have to be careful about bumps on the head if there is sickness afterwards. I'm sure there's nothing to panic about but a phone call wouldn't hurt.

drs or walk in centre asap

Agree with all advice given so far - just in case you need any more persuasion.

Or NHS Direct

I know it's a pain, but if it were me, I'd go straight to A&E, get her checked out in the right place, just to be on the safe side.

Our hospital assesses children pretty fast, don't know what it's like at yours though.

ButtonMoon · 23/05/2005 13:17

My DD fell onto a tiled floor and banged her head. I phoned NHS direct and they said that keep a close eye.....possible danger signs;
unconsciousness
lack of visible bump to head
vomitting within 24-48 hrs after fall
discharge from ears/nose

if she displayed any of the above I was to take her to A&E straight away.

They said that she would likely to be sleepy but to keep a close watch.

DD started being sick the next day and I took her to A&E and they saw her straight away. She had xrays and was fine. Better to be on the safe side.

I took dd to A&E, they were really great. Saw her right away. She had x-rays and shes fine

Just gotta keep an eye on her. They think its just a tummy bug and it'll just run its course.

Thanks guys

Glad she's OK. I know the media seem to slate them all the time but I think the NHS are just brilliant sometimes.
