How common is it to bleed on Depo?

My first shot was 2 months ago, and I hadn't had any bleeding since then.

However, on holiday last week, I started bleeding and felt very pre-menstrual, and it was about the time I would have had my period. Is this normal? I was totally un-prepared for it and had to pay the equivalent of £7 for a box of tampons.

I bled constantly for 6 months with the depo (had 2 lots of injections then stopped due to the bleeding). I also put on a ton of weight and would never have the depo again.

I beld continuously for 2 years after 2 lots of Depo, horrible, horrible thing. I know it works well for some ladies but it made me so ill. I was a walking zombie for 2 years.

very common to have irregular bleeding on depo (or any other progestogen only contraception). eventually though it's likely to stop your periods completely.
