Starting the Pill after pregnancy

I know nothing of these things so all opinions are helpful.

DD is nearly 11 months and my periods have not come back. I am not worried about that except my PMT seems to have come back.
Is that possible?

So I am wondering - can I go back on the pill before my periods come back.
And if I go on it how long for it to settle the PMT.

Or could there be something else making me a moody mare?

I went back onto the pill when ds2 was 6 weeks old. My periods hadn't come back and the dr said to just start taking it.

Just did a bit of research, the last pill I was on was Cileste, a combined pill and I was happy with that.

But as a combined pill it could affect BFing - would this matter so much now DD is nearly 12 months? I was planning on keeping the morning and evening feeds for a while yet.
