has anyone's flu started with terrible pain in their lungs?

2 days ago my back/lungs started to hurt a lot. I have asthma and have had full blown pneumonia twice in the last 10 years (once less than 6 months ago). I'm at high risk, as is DS who is 3 in 2 weeks and DH who has a serious lung disease and only about 2/3 lung capacity, so swine flu is a reasonable worry for us. Also it has been confirmed at DS's school (his preschool is adjacent to a secondary school - we got a letter home then immediately after someone at his preschool got "the flu" then school broke up)

So long story short, my lungs hurt like a bitch and I am taking my inhaler several times a day. I checked my temp & its only 37 but I feel really hot & sweaty. I am so tired I could weep. DS and I both have sneezy runny noses. DH works at our local hospital. What should I do, if anything at all? Am thinking of walking in to town this morning to buy some calpol as we are out but its a 40 min round trip walk and I am so knackered but I dont want to be stuck without it if DS gets sick.

I always wonder how GPs like that (thankfully rare, IME) manage to pass their GP exams in the first place.

She probably has a personality disorder, silly woman

Take no notice, and if you feel worse/get a temp/cough a lot: go to A&E or another GP or call an ambulance, depending on the situation. HOpe you don't though, hope you feel a lot better soon.

I have recently had what I suspect was SF - started after a weekend in London, had been visitng hospitals, on busy trains/buses etc. No formal diagnosis or treatment but I'm pretty certain.

First symptom was chest pain/tight chest, followed by sore throat but low down, more like lungs really.

Then came headache, nausea, runny nose, cough that I stil have 2 weeks later, alternating hot/, and the most extreme fatigue. I had to crawl to get drinks or go to the loo. Felt quite breathless at times and was struggling to finish sentences for a few days afterwards.

I don't have asthma but did have pleurisy 10 years ago that wasn't treated properly (was homeless at time and didn't finish course of drugs or go to follow-up appts). So quite often when I am ill it settles on my chest, but the lung pain this started with was new and horrible.

That should say alternating hot/chills.
