Hi All.

I have got a little boy who is 3 weeks and 4 days old.
I have got to go back on contraception but had bad experiences with the pill, i have been on 3 different pills.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to what is good and what is bad as i have got to start thinking about what i want to do as a contraceptive.

Are you breastfeeding? If so the only options are mini pill or condoms unfortunatly.

the coil, Mirena or copper, are options if you are breastfeeding.

I have the implant, it's great no af and no other side affects.

You can use it while bf.

You can use any method except the combined pill and patch if BFing- including mini pill, depo injection, coils, implant, condoms.

The method you choose depends on a few things: medical history, cultural beliefs, personal preference for pills or other methods, how reliable you are likely to be to use it correctly and how soon you may want a future pregnancy (if at all).

Look here for more info and links to stuff about all the available methods.
