Thought I had Swine Flu yesterday, spoke to GP on phone who said I had all the symptoms except the fever, so probably just a cold.

It's made me think I should prepare myself for inevitability of getting it at some point by trying to be really healthy from now on, ie. daily echinacea dose, vit c, probiotics etc.

Any other suggestions for what I can actually do to help build up my (and my family's) immunity? Is that even a worthwhile exercise??

I'm married to him so obviously don't have a problem getting close to him.

Hello, blueberry, yes I would have given less calpol to be honest, even with a temp of thirty nine. With the children I would give it earlier than for adults but not automatically. I would prefer to watch and wait rather than give paracetamol, but it's not for everyone, I realise that.

I suppose I don't get where the theory of "sweating it out" disappeared to. It's what everyone used to do (adults at least) but now everyone seems terrified of fever as if that was the disease, and not a symptom.
