Really im at my wits end.
My vulva is completely lopsided and right now im considering a loan that i cant even afford too get the surgery to fix it. My inner labia is really long und ugly and uncomfrtable. My outer labia is worse, one "lip" is fine and sits flush against me the other is a good 2 or so inches long. its not just ugly but uncomfortable and gets in the way Its always been like this but getting worse as im aging.
Has anyone had this surgery or know anyone who has? Or maybe have any other idea of how to sort this??

And mine doesn't look like any of them on that artists site so I must be strange!

I know someone who had it done under general and it was very uncomfortable.
I dont think it was on the NHS though

Fascinating link!

I've already picked my favourite and the one I feel most resembles me (they're not the same ones sadly).

I'm not the only one to have done that, am I?

There was a documentary about this a few months ago - I'm sure there must have been threads about it.

A young girl had the op done because her sister used to say in mixed company that she had a 'hanging ham' - the poor girl was very distressed and in pain afterwards.

I agree they all look wierd, and they're not exactly in full view, are they?

ipiratethief · 15/07/2009 22:11

no, you're not!!

i quite like the look of 2nd row 4th from the left!!

OurLadyOfPerpetualSupper · 15/07/2009 22:22

I mean BUT they're not exactly in full view.

FenellaFudge · 15/07/2009 22:50

I'd go into the surgeons office and say "take it all off and give me a second row, fifth from the left"
Course I love em all, givers of life each and every one

You can get this done on the NHS if it's causing you problems, either physically or psychologically. More of these types of surgeries are being done on the NHS but not everyone thinks that is a good thing.

I have just had a posterior repair and when I went for my initial consultation I asked the gynaecologist what my fanjo looked like compared to other people's. I know that sounds mad but I was just curious - you never get to see them, do you? He didn't mind at all and was very straight and open about it (I'm boringly average apparently).

I talked to my dh about this too, and he said that they vary a lot in external appearance but that they are ALL lovely and he honestly has no preferences. I think a lot of women don't think they look great 'down there' but I'm sure that's normal. I was traumatised as a teenager when my labia minora seemed to suddenly 'appear'.

My surgeon said he would send anyone who wanted this done for psychological assessment first, but that he is performing this procedure more and more. I would get an honest, objective opinion from an experienced gynaecologist first but if it's making you unhappy, go for it, and don't bankrupt yourself, explore having it done on the NHS.

Good luck.
