pain in ribs

hi my dd17 has just gone to the shops and bk and said shes got a bad pain in her ribs and her right shoulder to her chest[boobs] ive gone on nhs direct and put some answers in and it came up to call 999 bit she wont let me call 999 what can i do other than that she feels fine ps she has only been walking

shes had it for the past hour sorry forgot to use ,.?

Why not call NHS direct too, see what they say? If they say 999 too then you know what to do. Hope she's ok!

all is ok took my dd to a&e ,they said she has pulled a muscle ? and she smokes too much,iukwim just got back had to wait 3 hours

Phew, at least it was nothing serious! Glad you got it resolved.

oh yes she needs to stop smoking ,but she never listens to me ??

i had something similar recently with NHS Direct. I had an awful pain in my chest, the right side, hurting more as i breathed.

I called them, and as soon as i said chest pain, they wanted to call for an ambulance. I knew it didnt warrant that, and spent ages trying to convince them, but they still sent one out

The lovely ambulance people came out, and sent me off to walk in centre (my own transport).

Was then diagnosed with bad chest infection.

NHS Direct are great, but sometimes it sticks a little too literal to the computer
