Chamomilla teething granules - any good for colic?

About to send Dh out to buy some for DS (nearly 5 wks. Do they help with colic? I'm getting desperate!!!!

chamomilla is generally good for tummy problems. colic etc.
but it is a medicine, so dont give too much. and if it doesnt work after two days, then stop.
i used the drops dont know about teething granules. ussed two drops in teaspoon of sterile water three times a day. noticed an improvement alsmost immediately. but did not use for more than six days.

Merlin have you considered osteopathy? DS has been (although his problems were later found out to be medical), and I know a couple of other people with very colicky babies who it worked absolute wonders for!
I swear by it (cured my migraines). The lady I go to said that DS had a very tight diaphragm which she loosened by massaging gently, and that one side of his neck was very tight.
He used to get hiccups a LOT, but now hardly has any. And he also used to only lie his head to one side but seems happy whichever way he lays now!

Starlover - yes the osteopathy - I presume yours was the 'normal' version or was it cranial too? - will be my next action. This only just got bad the last day or so, so we're just seeing what is going on at the moment. Interesting what you said though cos Ds has hiccups a lot and also favours his head more one one side than another I think (shall be watching him now!).

I had cranial osteopathy for my migraines (when I was about 12).
Now see just a regular osteopath. She worked wonders on my back after the birth too!

As she rightly pointed out, birth is pretty traumatic and it's not unlikely that babies end up with niggly pains and things after being squeezed out!
I have to say I have been very lucky with DS in terms of having no colic or anything, we took him because he was having breathing probs which, as I say, turned out to be a medical thing and not something she could fix. But she did sort out the hiccups etc!

Don't know what area you are in, but mine is in west sussex. When I was younger I saw Stuart Korth who is very highly regarded and trained the osteopath I see now! We must;'ve been very lucky as I think he now has about a 6 week waiting list! But he does specialise in babies and children and I think would be worth seeing. His practice is in Harley street

Starlover - am in Dorset so trip to Harley Street may not be practical. DH popped out for about an hour, Ds screamed virtually the whole time he was gone - came back gave him 1 dose of the granules and has been quiet as a mouse ever since! Now feeling like a failed mother and have poured myself a large glass of wine!!!!!! We have a very good chiropractic college here where both DH and myself have had treatment, so will enquire there as well. I'm a bit confused as to the difference between them and an osteopath - although I know they offer treatments for babies. Anyway, will persist with the granules tonight if needed and see what happens!

awww bless... don't feel bad! seriously, I used to babysit for someone when I was younger and she had a little boy and he just used to scream and scream and scream. 2 or 3 visits to the osteopath and he was like a different child! it was amazing.
not too sure on difference between chiropracter and osteopath either...
do enquire though, I think it's worth it and I am sure you will find someone good locally. Ask on here for recommendations in your area maybe?
