Does anyone know if there is a link between PCOS and IBS?

I suffer from both of these conditions, both quite severely.

I'm looking into diets to aid PCOS and it says to avoid things like white bread, rice and pasta, fruit juice etc. These are all things that also set off my IBS.

Does anyone else have both?

Do you suppose they are connected at all?

Yes they can be - a high level of progesterone can cause looseness in the bowels, bloating and cramps (well as you know from the PCOS I have no doubt).

Giraffe,

Some PCOSers find a low GI or low GL eating plan helpful.

Have you looked at Verity's website - www.verity-pcos.org.uk

BTW is your IBS cylical in nature?. I only ask because some women get misdiagnosed with IBS when they infact have endometriosis!.
