How long should you be off work after removal of said boulders (by keyhole surgery)?

(Not asking for me but for friend, thankfully)

I had my gallbladder out a few weeks ago and it was a week before I could move around anything like normally, two weeks before I could have sensibly gone back to work except I was on mat leave iyswim. After six weeks I feel great but still have an occasional little ache around my tummy button to warn me that I've overdone it.
